Briella Taylor has always wanted a career in photography, however, her family has always argued the dream was not practical or reliable. After months of begging her mother has finally convinced her to fill out applications to colleges to major in teaching along with art . She's begun to think a lot about what her family has been telling her about finding a more stable career.
Briella does realize going for teaching would be more stable. However, she can not forget what she's wanted since she started taking pictures in middle school. She can't forget the pride she feels after printing out the pictures she took of beautiful landscapes and group photo's of her friends. She loves the way a camera feels in her hands and the sound of the click when the picture is being taken. She enjoys the look of the flash at night highlighting the surroundings.
She thinks of all that she loves about taking photo's as she stares at the two acceptance letters. One from an Art school and the other from the more "practical" choices.
She does love working with kids. She's spent multiple hours volunteering at the local preschool in her town. That's why it's a option.
"Sweetie, I really don't understand the problem," Her mom said behind her daughter.
"I know that you think teaching is the best option for me, but Mom you have to understand that taking pictures has been my dream for years," Briella sighs.
"I'm aware Briella. I just believe that teaching will give you better opportunity's to be someone in the world. I want whats best for you," She reminds her daughter.
Briella looks back at her laptop clicks onto the tab for the teaching major staring at the letter dreaming up what her life could like as a teacher.
She see's herself working in a small classroom with little kids running around and giggling to themselves. She see's a nice stable home with two bedrooms and a nice kitchen. Briella can also spot picture's along the wall. Pictures she took dreaming of becoming a photographer. Pictures she took with the camera, she saved up months for. Briella also saw no happiness in this lifestyle. In reality she didn't think she could go through not trying for her dreams.
Briella clicked out of the tab and continued on the Art school.
Five years later
"Briella these photo's of the gala are beautiful," exclaimed her boss Sandy walking into the studio.
Briella glances at Sandy smiling, "Really? I almost thought you wouldn't like them."
"I love the colors of the dresses and the way you caught the setting," She tells the girl.
"I try my best," Briella reply's.
"My dear you keep up the good work you'll be good enough to be hired by a travel agency," Sandy informs her.
"You think so?" She questions shocked.
"How could you even ask such a silly question. Your gonna be famous one day."
With those words Briella's dream came true.
