Hi there guys! It's black-talia-rose back with another interview. This time, I interviewed @Bre2k9, author of "Shadows of the Heart". Let's start, shall we?Talia: How were you first introduced to Kuroko no Basuke?
Bre2k9: DestinyGirlz. It's all her fault. She kept asking me and asking me to read it because I'm more manga-oriented than anime. Finally she did and got me obsessed with it. For that, I so love her XD. I also really love her stories, so it upset me I couldn't read Behind Invisible Lines. So I tried it out, and boom. I had read basically all of it in less that a month. So yes, I lovingly blame Destiny ^.^ I just reread that last line. Haha. I blame Destiny. My sense of humor may be a bit lame, but it's just such a wonderful accident.Talia: Your sense of humor is right up my street! So, who was the first character that struck you as interesting, and why?
Bre2k9: Kuroko was the first. His ability absolutely fascinated me because I had no idea what was going on, and he is just so adorable!!! He needs hugs *nods all serious-like* Okay, aside from his fantastic ability and cuteness.... *gets lost imagining it then forces mind back* Anyway~, just his personality in general kept me captivated. His burning passion for the game, yet always looking at his his teammates to the point he did that thing to counter Akashi that I will not say to avoid spoilers. It just shows his dedication to his friends. Go Kuroko :DTalia: I also adore Kuroko. Is there any character that you really disliked and why?
Bre2k9: At first I really disliked Akashi because of his buttholishness towards Kuroko. I just wanted to kick him really hard in the shin and then run away laughing like a maniac before he could find anything sharp. But as I started Shadows of the Heart, I just really started thinking of him, I started to actually like the concept. Sadistic him still really needs kicked, but the idea as a whole is so interesting, and I almost want to hug him as much as I want to kick him. I have a bad habit of falling for characters I write about. Like right now I'm stuck on Akashi due to one story and on Kise because of a possible story with him. So seeing as I now don't dislike Akashi, as I just so ramble-ly explained, I don't like Hanamiya. He ruins the game by playing dirty then he hurt Kiyoshi! Nobody is allowed to hurt Misaki's brother *poofs out cheeks in childish angerTalia: I also dislike Hanamiya, but I still think he's a really interesting character. Unfortunately, there have to be some good baddies (ha!) in every story. So, in 'Shadows of the Heart', is there any particular inspiration behind it?
Bre2k9: I wanted to do a story about Akashi, because as much as I didn't like him, I felt like he truly needed someone to be there. Honestly, in my mind, that's all he really needed was love. So, Misaki slowly grew in my head, as well as the bond between her and Akashi, as well as different scenes. I have this tendency to love to fix the broken, and because to me Akashi is one of the most broken, I wanted to work with him. Plus, who doesn't want to see the psycho having a hard time with something? Which I know you're eager to see how he will react to the reunion ^.^Talia: I am indeed looking forward to his reaction. Do you have any sneak peeks for the next chapter of 'Shadows of the Heart' or do you prefer surprises?
Bre2k9: Ooh. I could be so evil.... yes, I think I will be. Forewarning, this is subject to change, so don't hold me to this in the main version. Also, it shall be short just to try to torture ;)
Misaki gazed after his retreating figure, the ball still slightly bouncing off the floor. It was like each beat echoed as the ball fell, shattering a small piece of her. Tremors gradually worked their way through her as she heard those cold words once more. What had just happened?
It is very short, but I not want to expand on it any because I don't actually want to give any hints of what just happened because this is a very....fun moment. And anyone who reads my stuff knows it's not a good thing when I use the term "fun".Talia: My jaw literally dropped. That sounds amazing! I'm now looking forward to the next chapter even more. As both a writer and a reader on Wattpad, are there any KnB fanfictions that you particularly enjoy?
Bre2k9: Haha. Glad to know I received the reaction I wanted ^.^. To be honest I am still expanding what I have read, so for right now I just adore Destiny's Behind Invisible Lines as as your The Only One. I love the fantasy twist Destiny adds to KnB, an then you are messing with that evil devil goblin Akashi. How could I not love it? I've read a few others, but so far I don't have bough of a grasp to actually say if I particularly enjoy them or not. So actually, any recommendations would be awesome. Is it strange to request recommendations in an interview? ....Oh well. I shall anyway because I'm just a little rebel apparently.Talia: Why thank you! For any recommendations, I suggest 'No Regrets' by @Black_Ant_ and @Levee_Ayzis' KnB fanfictions. There is also 'First Encounter' by @Lucapyon. @retardedinpajamas also writes really good KnB fanfictions. If any magazine reader has a suggestion, the can comment if you like! As for questions, is there any scene/chapter/episode of Kuroko no Basuke that you would consider your favourite? [Spoilers!]
Bre2k9: Why thank you. I'll make sure to check them all out ^.^. As for my favourites... That's a toughy. My first thought is a spoiler because it's right at the end. I may have the order of when this happens mixed up, but when Ogiwara came back, and then everyone that Seirin defeated just started cheering them on. I had chills and was honestly near tears if not crying, which is bad because I was in the middle of class and trying so hard not to just scream along with all of them for Seirin to win. I mean, seriously, it was so amazing, because it was basically showing, hey, the basketball that Kuroko plays won out and reached all of those touched by it. It was just such an amazing scene that still gives me chills to think about it.Talia: I'm practically tearing up. That bit's so heartwarming! Do you have any scene/chapter/ episode that you would consider your least favourite?
Bre2k9: Not exactly. The closest I think I would get to a least favourite was during the Teiko Arc when Kuroko started breaking down and and just, well, becoming so defeated and broken. No, just no! Nobody does that to little Kuroko and gets away with it! *continues to scream in rage and release fire like a dragon* All who threaten to hurt him will be burnt to a crisp! Hmm...you know, I may be a bit weird....Talia: Nooo!! Kuroko must never feel defeated! *joins you in your rage* Yeah...me too. Anyway, ignoring our weirdness, are there any people you ship together in the series? (For me, it's RikoxJunpei, MidoTaka, KagaKuro which is just too damn adorable, and AominexMomoi for some reason)
Bre2k9: I definitely ship Riko and Junpei. It's one of those situations where you just want to smash two people's faces together XD. Okay, so I'm not the only one who sees Aomine and Momoi? Haha. I'm debating on it, but I do slightly ship the two. I don't think there's others because I'm one of the few girls that read this series and don't ship boy x boy. Not saying that there's something wrong if one does, simply that I don't. Ooh. And Kise and me. *smiles as if that's totally canonTalia: I don't ship boy x boy very much, but those two couples just somehow seem to work. And...I'm not alone! Momoi and Aomine are great together! Oh, and I can totally see your point with Kise. Yep, yep, totally canon. Okay...if you could be just one person on the series, who would you be?
Bre2k9: Hm....I think I would be Momoi because I honestly love the GoM, and for some reason I see them all as kids who need hugs, so I mostly just want to be in her position so I would have a connection with them and could hopefully help them out. Plus she has a bit of interaction with Seirin, so I could see them too. So basically Momoi so I could have some sort of connection everywhere XD.Talia: XD I'd be Riko 'cause she's awesome and because she can hit Bakagami and hug Kuroko. Okay, last question, if you could go to any one of the schools in Kuroko no Basuke, which one would it be and why? Also, seeing as you're in that world, pick a few things that you would do (no need to keep it confined to one school).
Bre2k9: Uuuuuugh. That's so hard. Evil XD. I can see so many things happening at each school. In the end I would have to go with Seirin. I love the others, but I could go and visit the GoM or something with Kuroko, who would treat me like a big sister and me treat him like a little brother. Yup. That would totally happen <.< Then I would probably try interacting with each of the GoM and not tell them how I know everything bout them (I'm treating this like a sudden teleportation into the world just for fun XD), though if that in the () wasn't the case, or even if it was, I would probably be curious about the GoM because I have a draw toward what is broken, which each of them in a way was. I'd also wanna learn basketball since I stink at it. And I would kidnap Nigou and make him my loyal puppy. What can I say? He's adorable XD. Also, I may or may not start crushing on someone. But you will never guess who. It's not like I left a hint anywhere in question 9 ^.^Talia: Good choices! Either with or without the brackets works. I, myself, would aim to go to Rakuzan. I would find a way to sit beside Akashi in at least one class and proceed to irritate him until h falls in love with me (hey, it works according to many fanfictions). I would love to join you in kidnapping Nigou. I would also like to trick Murasakibara into eating sugar-free sweet things, just for fun. Well, thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. It was much appreciated.
Bre2k9: Haha, it was my pleasure. I had a lot of in, though to be honest I was really nervous. Yikes. Misaki has competition. Not sure how that'll end XD. Good luck with your other article ^.^
