Flames

Zoya's pov:

I wake up to the sound of something that sounded like a scream. I rub my eyes and try to focus on my surroundings. Another scream is heard, this time is louder and it makes me tense up.
Pushing the comforter away from my face, I quickly get up and head to my daughter's room. Another scream fills up the house and my forehead creases in confusion.
Before I could step in her room, someone tumbles forward into my arms. My eyes widenes. Adira.
She is trembling from head to toe, her whole body shaking so violently that she could barely stand up.
I wrap my arms around her waist and hold her to my body.
She's crying, her body shakes with her sobs and she buries her face in my chest.

"Make...it...stop. Please. It h-hurts..it hurts s-so much," she cries into my chest.

"Adira?" When I start to push away so I could see her face, she cries harder and refuses to open her eyes.
She's panting for air and covered in sweat. Her hair is sticking to her forehead and her cheeks are wet with tears.
She falls on the floor, trembling and starts rocking back and forth, curling and trying to hide herself.
Sitting there, she looks like a lost child. She looks like someone who is utterly broken with no hope.
Her fingers are scratching at her arms, turning the skin bright red with her nails. They left long red lines, and if she continues that way, she would draw blood.
I drop on my knees and pet lovingly her head.

"Adira..Remember the meaning of your name.. strong, powerful. Don't let his memories haunt you. It's time to get up and make him pay for his sins"

Her head snaps up and stares at me
"Revenge," she whisperes hoarsely. Her voice is scratchy from crying.
"Revenge" she whisperes again, this time more firmly.

I nod and slightly smile at her. "Yes Adira. It's time to stumble back into his life and make him suffer"
