Ja'nae POV

I jolted up in a cold sweat as my alarm clock rang through the room. I groaned before peeling the comforter off of my body and grabbing the outfit I left out yesterday. I had to be ready for a flight to Houston in four hours, luckily I already had my things delivered to my new home so all I had to do was catch my flight withy small carry on bag. I had achieved my dreams of being a designer and I was now a freelancer.

I did all kinds of work for companies such as Versace, Loui Vuitton, Chanel, etc. I had decided to move back to Houston so I could have more peace instead of constantly hearing the noise of New York every day.

I shuffled to the now empty bathroom and quickly showered before getting dressed in a pair of high waisted black jeans shorts and a graphic t-shirt with a horror movie on it.

I pulled out a pair of all-white Filas before brushing my hair into two puffs and grabbed my phone and the rest of my belongings and left. I made sure to leave the keys on the island and headed to the cab I had ready.

" Can you take me to the airport please, the closest one."

I asked pulling my large bag into the car. The ride was silent until my phone began to ring, suburban pt2 by 22Gz playing before I quickly answered.

" Hello?"

"Hey, Jaja did you make it to the airport yet?"

I chuckled at my uncle's nickname for me, he was my father's brother and had moved down to Houston when I was five and was a bit of the only family I had down there other than his wife and four kids who were all luckily my age.

" I'm not at the airport yet, however, I am on my way there. Did all of my things make it to my new house?"

" Yup I checked. I locked up the house although so nobody could Rob yo ass.
How's your father?"

I sighed " he's doing fine, just retired about two months ago so don't be surprised if he randomly shows up in a Hawaiian shirt"

My father, while hurt by my mom, did recover and was a better person now.

" Oh god, well call me when you land and I'll send Xavier to come to get you. love you Jaja"

I smiled " love you too!"

we pulled up to the airport and I paid my charge before hauling the bag over my shoulder and shoving my phone into my pocket.

~time skip~

I sat up groggily as the pilot's voice rang through the plane telling the passengers that we've landed.

I stood up and grabbed my bag before texting my uncle and telling him that I landed.

       Alright, zay is on his way to come to get you. He'll be there in about ten mins just sit tight until then💙

I turned my phone off before jumping as a hand cradled my lower back, gently pushing me to the side.

" S'cuse me "

I turned to see who it was only to see the back of a woman retreating to the other side of the airport. She was pretty tall and had long curly black hair.

I shook my head before catching myself as a large body slammed into mine.

"JAJA!"

My shock disappeared as I hugged my cousin back, his deep laugh echoing in my ears as my smile threatened to split my face.

"How have you been Jaja? I haven't seen yo ass in a minute"

I chuckled as he grabbed my bag leading me to the car.

" I've been pretty good. Work has been paying me very well and I'm closer to you guys. I missed Houston"

He laughed opening my door before putting my bag in the back seat. Zay got in the car pulling off as we made our way to the house.

" Yeah yeah I know you missed us. I mean look at you. A big-time designer n shit. Working for Versace and Chanel, you better hook me up."

" I will I will I promise, just give me about two weeks ok?"

" Aight ja "

Zay was a nice guy. An athletic build, hazel eyes and a glowing brown completion with almost no acne. He stood at about 6'4 and wore his hair in dreads for now.

We finally pulled up to the house and got out quickly. I  hadn't made it three steps out the car before the loud yell of my other cousins came into play.

"JAJAAAA" My cousin Sunni yelled her braids waving behind her back as the small jewels in her hair glittered in the sun.  Sunni was 24 and worked as a salon hairstylist. Her eyes are a nice shade of brown with her skin just a lighter shade. She stood at 5'7 and has a playful personality.

Next came out her sister ivy, ivy worked as a doctor at a nearby hospital.she is 25, She wore her hair in a large ponytail and had large brown eyes. Ivy stood at 5'6 and has a curvy figure.
Lastly came Diamond, she is 26, diamond stood at 5'8 has short curly hair about 4 inches long out looked 2 from her curls. Her eyes were a beautiful Chestnut color and she held a small build.

" I missed you guys so much " I yelled back running over to them. I was engulfed with hugs as laughter erupted from my uncle who now stood on the front porch.

" Come on y'all let's go inside it hot as hell out here"

We went in and talked for a while before being interrupted by Diamond as she peered out the window. I joined her to see a large black truck cruising down the street.

"ZAY COME HERE"

Zay ran over to the window and cursed. " Shit, I forgot they were coming today". He went upstairs and returned with a small duffle bag and went to the truck that was now parked in our driveway.

A woman at least 5'6 came out. She had long black hair pulled into a ponytail with hazel eyes and henna like tattoos on her hands and arms. She wore a black tee with Jean shorts and a pair of red heels. 

She greeted Zay with a head nod before speaking to him.

Then another woman came out, she was at the height of 5'8 with heels but I couldn't tell her actual height due to the heels. She wore her hair down with curls cascading down her back. The woman had on a pair of sunglasses and wore a fluffy strapless top that covered her chest along with yellow camp pants.shw also had a Chinese tattoo going down her arm. She made her way over to Zay also talking to him before he nodded his head towards the house.

I quickly got out of that window and went to the kitchen for water before hearing the front door open as two new voices penetrated the air.

" Anyways I got two new deals with the niggas over in Dallas that we can do in about a month."

This voice was pretty high,  Another followed, " I don't know Nicki they seem sketchy as fuck. I say we give it a bit of time before we try to do any shit with them plus we gotta check in with M before we can do anything"

This voice was husky and feminine. Ivy and Sunni and my uncle all went out to handle some things while I, diamond and Zay and the two new people were here .

I crept out of the kitchen, water bottle in hand as the voices now got louder.

" Aye y'all this is my cousin Ja'nae. Ja'nae these are my friends Nicki and Rih. " Zay said pulling me all the way into the living room.

God I hope this doesn't go wrong
