I stumbled lightly as Zay pulled me, regaining my balance I smiled at the two women.

In front of me a shorter woman pop up closer smiling, her deep does showing as her white ,straight teeth showed.

" Hi babes"
Her voice was a little high but was smooth motherless, I smiled at her tone and shook her hand in return

"Hi it's nice to meet you! My name is ja'nae"

Her dimples deepened as she gave out a little squeal " AHHH she's so cute"

The taller of the two took a small step forward as she introduced herself, she was more laid back compared to her partner. Her hazel eyes pierced through your soul too, as if she could tell if you uttered a lie.

We moved back to the couch as they continued their business. I on the other hand busied myself by playing with my phone.

I looked over to diamond as she came back from wherever she disappeared to. She looked cautious as she made her way to me and small bottle in her hand and her phone nowhere on her.

"You ok?" I asked her as she say down beside me. Her smooth skin shining in the light in small patterns as the sheer curtains moved with the wind.

"I'm fine, I'm just a little worried" she said, her words sounding forced as she took my hand and gripped it with her own. I could feel her rapid heartbeat as her grip tightened. Her lips tightening into a thin line and nicki , rig and Say continued to talk on the other side of the room, sparing sparse glances at us.

"There's nothing to worry about diamond" I responded as I tried to give her some feel of reassurance.

" As far as you know"

I heard diamond let out a sigh of relief as  nicki and Robyn left, their scent of heavy expensive perfume still lingering in the air as I moved around the table to get to the kitchen.

" Ja'nae" diamond cut the silence as I began to make myself dinner- everyone else had already eaten and at the time I had no desire to eat at all. Unease gnawing at my stomach as our company talked with zay, their words slightly hushed and their muscles tense.

" Yes?"  I swallowed thickly, I didn't know what this would be about. But all signs pointed to it being about the two women why had just left.

" There are some things we never told you- we keep food on the table with this, I don't support it that much but it's what we have to do. I know that you have a good ass paying job but we all agreed that we would rely on your money. There's only so much someone can give"  she exclaimed, her voiced laced with uncertainty as she fidgeted by the island placed in the middle of our kitchen.

I froze, my blood running as cold as a winter in minnesota, what the hell is she trying to tell me? Are they drug dealing?? Oh God they must be with that look she has.

" Diamond I have no problem with giving you guys money but this is dangerous! What happens when y'all go to fucking prison?? They won't be easy on none of y'all no matter what these people do not care about sob stories!!" I said, my voice raising with each word, tears threatening to spill as I imagined the things that would happen to my family at the hands of law enforcement.

"WE DONT HAVE A CHOICE  JA'NAE" Diamond screamed, her voice breaking as she shaked with unkept rage.

"YES YOU DO AND YOU KNOW IT. I COULD'VE HELPED BUT YALL STAYED SILENT. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS? TO RUIN YOUR FUTURE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WANT TO RELY ON FAMILY??? I WANT TO HELP BUT YOU PUSHED ME AWAY WHENEVER IT CAME TO MONEY" I proclaimed, my tone and volume matching hers.

Diamond let out a scoff as she marched upstairs. Abandoning the argument as I leaned into the counter. My hands covering my face as I shook out of fear, rage, and apprehension. They did this for nothing I could've helped.

Pride is a blessing yet a disease. It can ruin you if you allow it.

I honestly forgot I even made this book till I come back to wattpad after 4 months too see all these comments asking for updates. Y'all lucky I like this book or my ass would've ignored JDHDBSJ
