~Flashback~"Xander! You can't attack Hoshido like this! It isn't right!" I pleaded with my older brother. He pointed his sword at me. "(Y/n), don't try to stop me. If you do, I will not hesitate to end your life as well." He threatened. "You are a traitor." I gulped and backed up. "Xander, please, just listen! I-" "I have no time to listen to traitors!" He cut me off, swinging his sword. I closed my eyes and braced myself for the attack, but it never hit me. I slowly opened my eyes, and they widened quickly. "Ryoma..." My other older brother had stepped in the way and blocked the attack. "(Y/n), prepare to attack!" He said to me. I quickly nodded and got ready for the battle. The battle against my family.
~End Flashback~
I sighed as I lied down on the soft grass under a tree. I stared up at the sky, silently, thinking about my family in Nohr. "Oh, Xander... Why didn't you just listen to what I had to say...?" I questioned, quietly. "I hope you know that I still love you, and that I miss you... All of you..." I rolled over onto my side. "Camilla... Leo... Elise..." I mumbled. I then heard footsteps, causing me to sit up. "If you miss Nohr so much, then why don't you just go back?" Someone questioned, his voice full of hate. I sighed as I turned around to see Takumi. "Takumi..." I said, softly. He glared. "I never gave you permission to speak my name." He stated, crossing his arms. I shook my head and stood up. "Takumi, I know you don't trust me, but please, just give me a chance..." I pleaded. He simply huffed lightly and walked away, leaving me alone. Or so I thought...
I sat back down and leaned against the tree, frustrated and a bit hurt that Takumi still didn't accept me. I then felt a strong pair of hands grab me, roughly pull me up, and tie my hands behind my back. Another pair of hands then tied something around my mouth so that I couldn't yell for help. My eyes widened as I struggled to get away, but the men were too strong. The men shoved me onto a horse, and one of the men climbed on behind me. He smirked evily as he lifted my chin up. I glared at him. The man laughed. "How cute. Tryin' to be tough, are ya? Well, you don't scare m-" The man was cut off by an arrow shooting right between us. The man tried to dodge the arrow, causing him to fall off of the back of the horse and land on the other man. I looked around and eventually caught sight of Takumi.
I tried to yell my little brother's name, but of course I couldn't. My mouth still had that nasty cloth tied around it. Takumi prepared to shoot another, glaring at the men. "Leave. Now." He demanded. The two men stood back up, turned, and ran as fast as they could away from the palace, leaving the horse. Takumi put away his bow. "Pathetic cowards..." He mumbled, walking to the horse. He pulled me off of it and sat me down, untying the cloth around my mouth. Takumi then untied my hands. I quickly hugged him, happy to be untied. "Thank you, Takumi..." I said. Takumi's cheeks turned a bit pink. "Get off of me!" He shouted, shoving me away. "It was no big deal. Besides, the only reason I saved you is because Ryoma and the others would be angry if I didn't." He said, coldly, as he turned to walk away.
I stood there silently as I watched my brother leave me again. After a while, I walked back to the palace. Sakura saw me and smiled, shyly. "H-hello, (y/n). H-how are you?" She asked. I faked a smile. "I'm doing fine. Thank you, Sakura." I replied. "And you?" I asked. Her smile faded. "(Y/n)... T-Takumi said that some b-bad men t-tried to take you away..." She said, quietly. I smiled, reassuringly. "I'm alright. Takumi saved me." I explained. Sakura nodded. "I-I know... He told me that, too... He said he only did it t-to make m-me and that others h-happy... But I know that that isn't the r-real reason..." She mumbled. "Hmm?" I blinked. "What do you mean?" I asked. Sakura looked up at me. "I mean... He really c-cares about you... He's glad that y-you're back... He wanted you back as much as t-the rest of us..." Sakura explained. I was a bit surprised, but I smiled, softly. "Well, I'm glad."
The next day, I went back out to the tree that I always sat by to read a book. I sat down and leaned against the tree, opening my book. I had just started to read, when I heard footsteps coming towards me. I looked up and saw Takumi. "Oh, hello, Takumi." I greeted, casually. He didn't greet me back, and instead crossed his arms. "I'm supposed to stay with you when you're outside of the palace..." He said, his cheeks dusted light pink. I closed my book and stood up. "Why is that...?" I asked. He glared. "Because of what happened yesterday!" He yelled. I flinched a bit. Takumi looked away. "It's not like I want to be your babysitter..." He mumbled. I sighed. "I guess I'll be staying in the palace from now on, then." I said, turning to walk inside. "Wait!" Takumi yelled. I blinked and stopped. "What...?" I questioned. Takumi looked at the ground. "Look, I really don't care if you go out and do something... I mean, I have to go with you, but I don't care..." He mumbled. "Why don't we go to the market or something...?" He asked. I blinked and hesitantly nodded. "Ok..."
For the next few days, Takumi followed me around everywhere. Well, everywhere with a few exceptions. (The first time at the hot springs was also the last.) Even though we were always together, Takumi still didn't seem to want to be around me. In fact, he seemed to try to avoid me as much as possible while still following me around. It upset me quite a bit, because I loved my brother. And though I shouldn't, I loved him as more than just a brother. I was IN LOVE with my brother. I yawned as I walked to my room. Before I got inside, though, I was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see Hinoka. She smiled. "Hey, (y/n). I'm glad to see that you and Takumi are so close now." She said. I shook my head. "Actually, the only reason I've been with him so much is because Ryoma ordered him to stay with me at all times outside the castle." I replied. Hinoka blinked. "Ryoma never said that." She said. "Why would you think that?" She questioned. "Because that's what Takumi told me." I said, just as Takumi passed. He stopped immediately. Hinoka and I looked at him. "Takumi... What's going on?" I asked. Takumi sighed and glanced at Hinoka. "I need to speak to (y/n)." He mumbled. Hinoka then nodded and quickly walked away.
After Hinoka left, Takumi and I stood there silently. It was awkward. Takumi wouldn't look at me, and was instead staring at his feet. "(Y/n)..." He said, quietly. "There's something I have to tell you, and I'm afraid you won't want to hear it..." He started, looking up at me. "The reason I lied about being ordered to follow you... I... I just didn't want you to be taken from us again...! I couldn't bear it!" He said, looking me in the eyes. "(Y/n), I... I know this will be hard to hear, but..." He cut off, looking down. I walked closer to him and gently lifted his chin, causing his cheeks to heat up. He then did something very unexpected. I was shocked, as I felt his lips touch mine. My face turned bright red, and I quickly pulled away. "Takumi... I...! You...! You're my brother!" I shouted. Takumi blushed darker than me, and he turned and quickly ran down the hall. I stood there silently in shock.
For thr next few weeks, Takumi and I never spoke once. Any time we saw each other, we walked in opposite directions. That is, until one day, when I was sitting under my tree. I stared at the sky, when next thing I know, I felt a hand placed gently on my shoulder. I looked up to see Takumi. "Takumi..." I said, softly. Takumi then sat down next to me and pulled out a piece of paper. "You need to see this..." He said, handing it to me. I looked at the paper, to see that it was a note. "It's from mother..." He explained.
I quickly read through the note, and my eyes widened. "So... Suneragi wasn't my real father..." I said, softly. Takumi nodded. "Yes... And Mikoto wasn't my, Hinoka, Sakura, or Ryoma's real mother..." He said. I shook my head. "Sumeragi took care of me... Even though he knew that I wasn't his child... He took care of me and DIED for me... He was my real father anyway..." I said. Takumi nodded, then looked away. "That also means that you and I aren't truly sister and brother..." He explained. My eyes widened. "No... We aren't..." I said, softly, my cheeks turning pink. I looked up at Takumi, who was also red-faced. I thought back to the kiss that we had weeks before. "Then... That means..." I blushed darker as I leaned over Takumi. His eyes widened, as I leaned in and kissed him, gently. Takumi's eyes quickly closed, and he kissed back. I had just closed my eyes, when suddenly-
"I wondered when this day would come." I heard Ryoma sayd, startling me. My eyes snapped open and I fell over on Takumi. I quickly pulled myself off of him and the two of us stood up, blushing as red as Ryoma's armor. "R-Ryoma...!" I whined. Takumi crossed his arms and looked away. Ryoma just chuckled before walking away. I glanced at Takumi and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "I love you, little brother..." I said, softly. Takumi blushed and uncrossed his arms. "I... I love you, too, (y/n)..."
