I notice her as I crank the wheel on the cliché penny grinder thing. She looks at me, almost jealous. I look back, unsure of what to say. Do I say, "hey, I noticed you in the line and I've been thinking of you all the frickin time like a stalker"? No. I don't say that. Because that's weird. So I let her walk past me, diminishing any chance of connection between us once again. I don't notice that she is looking at me from behind. I don't notice how she bites her lip and looks down at her own body, wishing that her boobs were nonexistent. That she wishes that she could pass for a man as well as I could. But unbeknownst to her, I was doing the same. Lookin at her out fo the corner of my eye, biting my lip, looking down at my own body and saying, "damn, is this rocking hot bod good enough to please this goddess standing before me?" After the excursion was over, I was so cold, and seeing the water, I wanted to go in, because, naturally, water is warmer when you're cold. But then I noticed that there was a water park floating on the water. There was an inflatable trampoline, an inflatable trapeze, a slide, and a big ball that had less than 4 handles. I didn't really want to go, providing that the only people occupying the area were under the age of six years old. It was embarrassing. But then, like a volcano out of the ocean, the girl of my dreams burst out of the water, holding a kid that had just fell from the slide. Like a freaking superhero. I knew we were meant to be. She was my hero, saving me from despair, keeping me from diving off the deep end. I go to far a life jacket, flash my wristband, and jump into the water, headed for the live of my life. I could tell she was ignoring me. She was looking at me, but not really, like she wanted to not look at me, and she was having a hard time doing just that. I proceeded to go on the trapeze thing, and when I was done with that, went over to the slide. I swear, I didn't know she was there. But I saw her, and I floated above the water, (The life jacket didn't help) I was so happy. I tried to get up to the top of the slide, still not knowing what to say to her. When I finally got to the top, I had a clear view of the crystal blue, clear, Caribbean water. And also, her. She was trying to get on top of the big ball with two handles. She was pulling it toward the slide so that someone could jump on top of it and pull others on the ball. I saw my chance. "Are you in need of some aid... uh, do you need help?" I tried to be cool, I really did, but the "are in need of some aid" didn't really work out. She looked up at me, eyes sparkling, and was like, "would you?! Really? Thanks!" That made my day. Long story short, I made it to the top of the ball, made really great friends with the girl, who's name is Ash, not short for anything, and then came the hammer. I ate lunch, and while puttering around in the sand, who else comes up and plops herself down beside me, but Ash. "Do you have family problems?" Unsure of what to say, I just said, "yeah, who doesn't?" She then proceeded to tell me how they were transgender from a girl to a boy, and that their birth name was Anna, but I should call them Ash, short for Ashton. Ash told me that his family is in a homophobic religion, and that they find it very find it hard to talk to their family. I immediately realized that Ash and I have this connection because we are both she-hes, (girls that want to be boys that aren't really), and that we are meant to be, because, like they say, birds of a feather stick together.
