KiyoYachi (Haikyuu)

First Day As Club Manager

                             Yachi's POV
Today I got invited as Club Manager for the volleyball club! Karasuno is the school I go to! Soon the third years will be leaving and going off to college and such..It's so sad, all the third years are amazing. Yet so scary and intimidating! I ran from my last class, scared yet soo excited! I ran down the stairs, yelling 'Excuse Me' and 'Pardon Me' as I ran into somebody or shoulder bump someone when I was running. I got to the gym outside the school and my palms got sweaty. I started nervously shaking but decided everything would be fine..I slowly opened the door to find a bunch of boys!! SCARY BOYS! I couldn't believe it! There were so many of them! Some were short and some were tall..Mostly tall though. A small boy with bright orange hair caught my eyes. He seemed to be arguing with an older boy with silky black hair and stormy ocean looking eyes..so scary!! Do not even get me started on this really really tall boy with blonde hair and glasses! I tell you what- I have not seen someone nearly as scary as him! My mouth fell in surprise. I regret thinking I could do this! I almost turned back when a female with dark blue hair and beautiful pink glasses stopped me. She seemed very professional. She smiled at me, taking my right hand and enclosing it between both of her hands.

"Hi..I'm Kiyoko, The third year that suggested you to become manager" I stare at her in disbelief as she was very beautiful and her voice was angelic. I felt my cheeks heat up as I felt proud. "T-Thank you so much! So who exactly is the manager..?" I responded, Kiyoko giggled softly before she spoke to me. "It is me of course. I am leaving for college soon and wanted to pass the task of manager to a very wonderful person. These boys need someone to look up to besides their captain." I blushed softly. "Thank you for thinking I'm that person but I'm not sure I can do this. There is so many of them..and they're all so intimidating." Kiyoko shook her head. "They are all very respectable and sometimes responsible.." I stared at a bald kid and a small kid who were examining Kiyoko. "Uhm..Miss Kiyoko..Those boys are staring at you.." She laughed. "They always do that.. Don't worry about them. Let me introduce you to one of the sweetest kids I know" Miss Kiyoko waved over the orange haired boy that I examined earlier. He smiled brightly at me- before I knew it, this small kid started talking to me. "Hello Ma'am! I'm Shoyo Hinata a first year!" He bowed before me as my eyes widened. I got very scared and nervous. "H-Hi I'm Yachi! I'm supposed to be your new manager" I managed to squeak out of my mouth. He giggled, giving me one of the warmest smiles ever. "Welcome Yachi! I have to go back to spiking practice now! I'll catch up with you later, I promise!!" Although I was supposed to be a volleyball manager. I didn't have a single clue about volleyball, so I ask Kiyoko. "Miss, what is spiking?" I thought she was going to be surprised at such a question but she wasn't. "Well.." She said before I abruptly interrupted her by getting out a notebook and a pencil. I nodded my head in a response to tell her to continue. "Spiking is the act of scoring a point by slamming the ball over the net into the opposing court effectively and aggressively. Understand?? You'll learn more about the terms and players in volleyball soon." I quickly wrote what she said 'Spiking' was, I nodded smiling.

"Let me introduce you to some of our players.." Her voice softly spoke as she walked towards a male with grey hair. He smiled, as he stood with a male a bit taller than him with brown hair. I followed Kiyoko and stopped when she did, sort of hiding behind her. "Hi Kiyoko..! Is this the new manager?~" Kiyoko nodded. "Hello! You're Yachi correct? I'm Sugawara but call me Suga! It's much easier to say. He's our team captain, his name is Dachi" He introduced the guy next to him as well. The captain spoke. "Welcome to the club! We are very thankful for you coming here." I giggled. "No thank you!" I chimed as the small kid with tall brown hair came next to Dachi with another tall scary boy who had a man bun. He really freaked me out. The smaller boy came right up to me and smiled proudly. "I'm Nishinoya! The libero on this team!" I stared in disbelief as Kiyoko nudged me and whispered. "A libero is a player specialized in defensive skills.." I quickly wrote that down and Nishinoya pointed at the guy with the man bun behind him. "That's our Ace, Asahi!" Asahi waved awkwardly but it was sweet. Nishinoya examined me. "Tense eh? It's okay!!" He took me by the shoulders and smiled. I soon got taken all around the gym, but got soon interrupted by a guy with blond and brown hair calling the team over. Kiyoko grabbed my hand, leading me to a circle where the boys sat around the tall man. He grabbed my arm, placing me in front of him. "This is Yachi! Your second girl manager for now. She'll be replacing Kiyoko once she leave. I would like everyone to go one by one saying your position that you play in as well as your name. I started writing down names 'Tanaka' , 'Kageyama' , 'Tsukkishima" , "Yamaguchi". There were so many of them! Not really but it seemed like it. It seems Hinata is a 'Middle Blocker'..Isn't that a position for the taller people..?.

Soon I learned the coaches name 'Coach Ukai'. Coach Ukai soon told everyone to clean up and that practice was over for tonight. Everyone started cleaning as I sat there, not knowing what to do. Kiyoko turned to me. "You can leave early if you want or I can walk home with you." I nodded. "Can I walk home with you?" She nodded, grabbing her bags. She took my hand, holding my wrist. We walked out of the gym and a few minutes later I heard a cute familiar voice...I just don't know- Hinata! It's Hinata!! I soon turned around and Hinata followed on his bike, waving at Kiyoko and I. We stopped waiting for him, we all started walking with eachother until Kiyoko had to part ways. I thanked her and waved goodbye when she walked off. It was just Hinata and I. We continued walking until we came to a stop in front of my spot. "Thank you Hinata! Make sure to get home safe!!" He nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow at practice!!" He continued on his bike down the bike lane until I couldn't see him. I went into my house, going straight to my room and crashing down on my bed. 'How exhausting' I thought. Everyone was so nice and sweet. I blushed thinking about everyone until I fell asleep.
