Ring
The door to the book shop opened, and a light haired man walked in. Blonde hair and light blue eyes. He was cute in the little school girl crush way and the only thought was why was he in the bookshop he did not belong here. You could tell he was the jock type.
I was the only one on shift. I approached the man.
"Hi, is there anything I can help you with?" I asked him with a kind smile.
"Umm not right now." He looked down at me awkwardly. He was ducking behind the bookcases. When the front door glass breaks and a man taller than the one that was next to me busted in.
"You son of a bitch, where the fuck are you!" He roared into the store the man that was next to me was now gone.
Heavy footsteps came towards me. I am so fucking confused. I turn as I hear the footsteps stopped and there stood the tallest man I have ever seen in my whole life. He had dark hair and even darker eyes. We stood there staring at each other for a few seconds. He had a gun but when he saw me he hid it. I memorized the way his tattoos looked on his arms and neck. He took a rather large step towards me. I took one back. He laughed as if I was a naive child.
He walked right around me as if I wasn't there when about 5 other men walked up to him. One gave me a look then continued walking behind their leader.
I thought aloud to myself, "What the hell just happened."
My Manager and co-workers rushed out.
"Bridgit what happened?" My manager, Carlin asked. I looked her dead in the eyes not knowing what I witnessed but I answered anyway.
"Gangs" I said blankly.
"Bri are you okay?" Al asked. I looked at him and nodded at him. "Why don't you go home." He suggested looking at Carlin.
"Yes, Bridgit why don't you go home you seem very shaken." Carlin said with worry.
"Alright." I said still shocked by everything that just took place. I rushed past everyone and went into the break room to get my purse and keys. Walking out seeing everyone cleaning the mess and calling a repairman. I rushed out the side door, avoiding everyone.
I rushed to my car hurrying to get home. Once I got home I locked my door and put a chair in front of it -just for some extra security- and went to shower.
After I got out of the shower I made some pasta then sat down on the couch to watch some T.V.
Knock. Knock. I looked at the door I didn't answer the door just sat in my seat not moving or making a sound. Knock. Knock. What the hell! I looked at the clock. 8:32 pm.
Who would be here right now? I asked myself.
"Is this where Bridgit lives?" A very deep voice said with a hint of an accent. I walked up to the door. 'Thank god the floors are carpet' I thought. I went up on my tiptoes to see who was here and there was the man who had broken into the bookstore when the door was open.
"I know someone is in there I can feel the movement." He said in a knowing tone.
I moved the chair and unlocked the door with the chain still locked. I opened the door, looking up, and there stood the man with dark hair and dark eyes.
"Hi" He said in a relieved tone. "I know you don't know me but I wanted to let you know how sorry I am for breaking the glass the place looked empty and I was trying to get someone." He said nonchalantly.
"Hi" I said. "What about today?" I looked him at him closer never breaking eye contact.
"I was wondering if I could take you out to dinner as an apology." He said.
"Um sorry I already ate." I said going to close the door but a foot stopped me. I looked up at him again.
"What about Ice Cream?" He asked me in a sweet nice voice. I looked at him and all I could see was that scary man with the gun but he was so calm.
"Make it cheesecake and we have a deal but first what's your name?" I asked.
"Dimitri Vaughn" He said and I heard his accent. "Can I come in?"
"Yeah no." I said "But I will be out in a minute." I shut the door and ran to my room to get shoes. I put on some knock off birkenstocks with what I was wearing which was athletic shorts and a 'Harvard' hoodie. I walked out of my room grabbing my purse only to see that Dimitri was sitting on my couch flipping through the channels.
"You really should always lock your door, even when you know that there is someone at the door waiting for you." He said turning his head to look at me. He smirked. "Ready Miss Harvard."
"Yep" I said popping my p, and then something clicked. "Actually no, I don't even fucking know you."
"Fair enough." He smiled. "How about tomorrow we meet a coffee shop and tell each other about ourselves." He says
"Sure." I said. "Give me your phone." He handed it to me you could see the uneasiness in his eyes. I opened the contacts and entered my name and number in. "Text me when and where in the morning, and don't come here again."
"Okay and Bridgit, be careful please." He said taking a step to me. I didn't move he bent down and kissed my cheek. "Till I see you in the morning la mia bellezza" He went to the door and left shutting it. I went and locked it securely making sure no one could get into my apartment.
"What the Fuck." I said aloud and went back to my spot on the couch. I see a piece of paper folded what the hell is happening? I unfold it.
