it was just before his thirteenth birthday.

"you are the only person that is worthy to bear my legacy,"
"and, of course, end my suffering by pulling on that trigger."
he was holding the cool piece of metal. it was cold and his knuckles were turning white from gripping the handle so hard as he stared deadpan at the suicidal man standing in front of him, only a few inches away. he wasn't the best fighter, but his aims were pretty accurate. his eyes couldn't focus properly, and tears were starting to form slightly behind the clear-framed glasses.
"masumi shimizu,"
he placed his hand on the minor's head, stroking his soft, azure hair, as he slowly felt his quirks being transmitted to the child. it seemed impossible, but he was haruki kobayashi, right? the most wanted assassin who killed thousands of people he did not wish to remember.
haruki saw death as nothing. nothing, but a path to be reborn. rebirth of a soul that was far too damaged to be fixed. maybe he won't feel so guilty then. haruki winced as he saw drops of tears rolling down the minor's cheek. well.. he might've been a great assassin, but not so much of a comforting figure in his protoge's life. he was supposed to be his mentor, damn it!
in the end, it had to be done. masumi started breathing heavily as his heartbet raised two beats. he could sense her mentor's consciousness slowed down a bit.
"you'll make a great hero, masumi. i don't want you to end up like me. one day you will find someone to look up to, i'm sure. i'm not much of a parental figure anyways," he laughed lightheartedly. "anytime, now, when you are ready."

for the sake of christ!
it was two a.m. and the ministry of defence recieved an anonymous tip on the possible whereabouts of the 'white shinigami', who was the commiter of the mass genocide on some heros and criminals. the m.o.d has been trying to track him for yers, yet to no avail. it was indeed quite fishy when the tip arrived at the office, and it caused much chaos. however, they went to scout the area anyways.

naomasa tsukauchi was a reliable police detective in the musutafu region, but he had a secret job at the ministry of defence of japan. he was employed as a spy to scout on missions that were held in musutafu and he was also one of the main enforcers in the place. with his amazing and useful human lie detector quirk, he was indeed very capable for the job.
however, when he, at 2.a.m., recieved a call from his superiors to tell him that the wanted assassin was spotted at the prefecture beside his working one, he was quite annoyed as it woke him after a long day of work. but he got dressed and hurried to the said place immedately anyways.
as soon as tsukauchi stepped out of his car, wearing his m.o.d. uniform, he was not expecting what came in front of him.
the corpse, still warm and bleeding excessantly from the bullet wound, lying on the cold night grass, with a somewhat contented twist on his lips. judging from his body shape and jawline, he looked quite young just for a genocider. so what driven him? and most importantly, how did they kill him?
"yo, tsukauchi-san, you're finally here," inui, the dog officer, waved for him to come. "when we came here, the man was already dead! his name is haruki kobayashi, as much as i know. the superiors won't say anything about this event after that and just asked up to do the forensic process now! and we came here in the middle of the night!" he explained, noticing tsukauchi's confused look as he wandered around at the crime scene, looking at the forensics packing up the body and collecting evidences. he narrowed his eyes as he recalled what inui said 'the superiors won't tell us anything!' what were they hiding about this possible mass-murderer?
tsukauchi found his curiosity iching. he steered himself towards the group of high-ranked members of the m.o.d. who were talking silently in hushed tones. they caught tsukauchi staring and quickly stopped their conversation. "ah, tsukauchi-kun, you've arrived," mizunashi, and director, started. "so... any clues on the case yet?" tsukauchi felt his eye twitch at the lack of sleep. "well.. you see..." terasaka, another main enforcer, offered. "it was confirmed, but most of the details are confidential, even to us enforcers." okay, truth, tsukauchi took note. "since it's the white shinigami case, i wouldn't say i'm surprised. but since agent said so, i don't think it's good to pry." tsukauchi's eyebrows travelled up slowly. "ah, i see. well, let's just get the body and crime scene preserved up, then."

masumi watched from afar in the officer's car, watchng everything speeding away from him. all the tears have dried up and masumi cant find any urge to cry all of a sudden. his sensei was his everything, but now he lost his everything too.
what else was there to lose? i could totally break the windows of this damn car open and jump in a lake for all they care, mom's never home. everyone lies. everyone steals.
and sensei...
what about his legacy? what did he even mean? anger bubbled up inside masumi, but he made no attempts to think anymore as his mind went blank and he fell into a quite dreamless sleep.

'kill... all might...
i want to demolish the nuisances of this world.... kill them.... kill them ALL..!'
all for one was indeed very impressed by his tenko shimura's- no, shigaraki tomura's sudden urge to kill the society trash that calls themselves heros. if he couldn't live to the day to demolish this useless, invisible line between villain violence and heroic violence, he would help groom someone, just like him, to complete the job.
