Bambi's POV
I woke up and saw Namjoon sitting in the corner of my room reading a book. I slowly sat up while rubbing my tired eyes. "What are you reading?"
He closes the book enough for me to see the title. I smiled.
"I found it under all of your junk on your desk. This book reminds me of the first time we met. When I first called you Bambi. Your face was buried in this book, isolated from everyone else around you. As weird as it sounds, this book means a lot to me. I'm happy that you kept it."
"Of course I did. It's the reason why you started talking to me in the first place. I feel like if it wasn't for this book, I wouldn't be here today. I would probably still be in the system or with a family that wouldn't love me as much as this family does. And I probably would be going by my birth name," I say while rolling my eyes.
"Well, I'm glad that you like being called Bambi. I'm proud of my 8-year-old self for that."
"Of course, you are mister 'mastermind.'"
"I'm actually surprised that it stuck for so long. I mean you're almost an adult now. Do you ever plan on going by your name?"
"Nah, too many memories surround my name. Bambi reminds me of having a fresh start."
"And being shy. And being clumsy. And-"
"Okay okay, I get it. You don't need to list out my faults."
"Hey, don't be so offended. They are the reasons why I called you Bambi in the first place so embrace them."
"Ugh, whatever. Get out of my room, you giant, long-legged pest."
He set the book down on my desk and slowly walked to the door. "..."
"What?"
"You wish you had long legs, stubby."
I gasped and threw my pillow at him and he ran out the door laughing. I sighed and shook my head while getting ready for the day. It was summer break so I didn't try to look a certain way. Not that I dress up for school anyways. I try to look decent at best.
I walked downstairs and saw my mom and dad looking concerned. I brushed it off and went to the kitchen to find some food. After I made my cereal, I sat down in the dining room at the kitchen table. They watched me while I ate. I hate that.
"What?" I said, looking up at them. "Namjoon told us what happened, sweetie and we're concerned."
"Okay, and? This isn't the first time this has happened, you know. And where is Namjoon, anyways?"
"He left with Yoongi. Anyways, you know that this hasn't happened in years and that's why we are worried about you. Maybe you need to go to-"
"No! My God, why is everyone suggesting that? I'm fine!"
"Sweetheart you know that-"
"No, I'm fine! There's nothing wrong with me! Stop acting like I'm broken!" I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door closed. I hate that they act like I'm broken or something just because of my past. I'm fine. There's nothing wrong with me. Just because I had a little episode last night doesn't mean there's something wrong. I don't need to go back to see a 'professional' because I'm fine. I'm normal. I'm normal.
