Monday Afternoon
"We meeting for lunch?" Charles asked Gwen over a video chat. They both were in their offices and have been extremely busy over the weekend and didn't have time to link up.
"Not today one of my coworkers asked me out to lunch last week," She responded looking at him on her computer screen.
"Baby girl that's our time," He reminded her, she frowned at his disappointed tone. She really didn't spend much time with him, and now she felt like a shithead.
"You're right. I'll reschedule with him.. you can come pick me up whenever you're ready," She said sending Craig a I'm sorry text message.
"Thank you, I'll be there in a few. I have to make a quick stop first," he said checking his watch.
"Okay, I'll see you later."
"Alright bye beautiful."
She blushed, "Bye." She ended the call and sighed. Having a relationship with someone in the same field was more difficult than she thought.
She spent about another hour and half then Charles called her letting her know he was outside. She placed her small black Dolce & Gabbana on her shoulder, and grabbed her phone.
She stepped out her office and to her surprise she saw her mother and brother speaking with Stacy.
"What are you guys doing here?" She asked walking up on them.
They turned around hearing Gwen's voice. "We need to talk." Her brother spoke up placing his hands in his jean pockets.
"Listen, I wish you would of called because I have a lunch date I need to get to like now," She said feeling her phone vibrate in her hand, it was Charles rushing her.
He was on a tight schedule.
"Come back in a like a hour and I'll be free then," She said walking away toward the elevator.
"Gwen!" Her mother exclaimed in shock causing a few of Gwen's employees to look up in confusion of the noise in the hallway.
"I have to go," She repeated entering the elevator and pressing the close button. She sighed shaking her head, she couldn't catch a break for nothing.
"You okay?" Charles asked Gwen.
They were now sitting in a booth at a restaurant near her office.
"I'll be better if you come sit next to me," She responded. She wanted his company and plus they were in the back of the restaurant alone, so no one would be able to sneak a picture of them.
"Really?" He asked shocked, she smacked her lips at his response.
"Can you stop playing?" She asked watching him stand up from his seat to seat next to her. She scooted over in the booth giving him space, she laid her head on his chest while he wrapped his arm over her shoulder pulling her close.
"What's the matter?" He asked noticing she was down.
"Nothing, I just miss you." She said looking up at him.
