*chapter three*

Because something caught me.

I blinked my eyes and looked to see who it was.

It was a boy, with messy silver hair that flopped down over his ears. His skin seemed to glow and his eyes were two different colors. One a dull green, and the other a pale blue. He was wearing a white t-shirt tucked into black pants.

At that moment, with the sun behind him, he looked almost magical.

"Are you okay?" he asked, waving his hand in front of my eyes.

"O-Oh, I'm good," I said, standing up straight, my cheeks slightly pink.

When I pulled away he looked just like an average person. An awkward and slightly strange one, but human. He also looked a lot younger, maybe a freshman.

"Be careful next time," he said, smiling.

"I will," I responded.

Then we both just stood and stared at each other. I swear a bead of sweat dripped down his head, because of how dreadfully awkward it was.

"So uhm," he said.

"Well uhm," I said, at the same time.

We both laughed, a painful laugh that meant we both wanted to hide and never come out again.

"You first," I said, breaking the silence.

"What's your name?" he simply asked, but he looked unsure about using it as a conversation starter.

"Minsun," I said, "yours?"

"Zerzo," he responded, smiling innocently.

"Cool name," I said, beginning to walk again, "where you from?"

The boy, or Zerzo, followed behind me and tucked his hands in his pockets.

"Just...around," he said.

I nodded, I understood if he didn't want to tell me about his past. Opening up to people is hard, and any small detail can be a traumatic part of someone's life, you just could never know.

"Where you headed to?" he asked.

"Job interviews," I said, then my eyes widened as I checked the time on my phone.
