Once Upon A Time, there was once a grand and powerful kingdom called Fortis. For many years it had strived for glory and greatness like its neighbor Romas.
The King and Queen of Fortis had long seeked to have a child. Their prayers had been answered when the Queen had a child, a beautiful boy, with hair as bright as the sun, skin the shade of vanilla, and eyes as blue as the sea. The Kingdom celebrated gloriously to the news of the Prince. He brought so much light in the King and Queens world that they named him Aduro. He was known through the whole kingdom and favored by many; even by the High Archmage Magicus. He was indeed known by many, even the darkest of foul creatures. Out of this the evil Warlock Malum had heard of the birth of the Light. Malum despised many of the people of the Kingdom of Fortis, including the Archmage Malum. Due to his dark and evil magic and work for the dark arts he was banished with a Kingdom like estate in the corner of Fortis.
The land itself was plauged with darkness and with scourge and undead. No mere mortal would enter the land unless they wished death upon themselves or wished to battle Hell himself.
Malum saw from his cold stoned Castle the celebration of the new child and he saw that he would end this foolishness once and for all. An evil grin played on his lips as he walked down the steps of his dark fortress. He plotted with the sourest of souls and demons from Hell, to set fires from the sky and crumble the great powers of Fortis.
The dark devil himself walked to the grand Castle of Fortis; it may have been long but worth everything for his ruthless scourging. Everywhere he walked, the grass faded from green to black. Flowers would die at his sight as his shadow fell over them.
He pressed on towards the Castle, passing by parades of people as clouds of darkness rolled in as he made his way inside the castle gates.
He blasted through the meddling guard that stood through his way of revenge, blasting darkness to open the doors of the King and Queens chambers. The Royals held to each other seeing the Devil himself, a grin played on Malums lips as he forced life out of the Queen, watching as she aged quickly to nothingness, her ashes falling to the ground. Quivering with rage the King roared grabbing his grand sword, Valor, attempting to slay the beast. Malum with a snap of his fingers stole oxygen from the Kings lungs suffocating him and brought a plague of bugs to feast on his body. As he saw the deceased he clenched his fist as the room ignited on fire. He crept to the crib which held the newborn. As a ball of fire formed in his hand he was blasted by light as Magicus the Archmage protected the child.
"Go no further, abomination." Spoke the young Mage. A twisted smirk formed on the warlock.
"It's so good to see you again Magicus. You always were a pest." Magicus simply huffed.
"You will not touch the child, magic or literal." Magicus said clenching his fist as light absorbed into his hand. Malum, with the wave of his hand, wrapped the mage in dark vines.
"Release me!" The mage growled.
"No!" The warlock roared. "This is a glorious prophecy, you must be apart of old friend." He said gathering all of his power, all of his might to cast a wicked curse. "Tis true the child of light will grow in grace and truth. But this curse will make the greatest rebuke. As he grows fair and tall, the age of seventeen he surely will fall. Nothing can save him, wicked or right, for he will die on that glorious night! From single innocence he won't see, but a rose he his finger will be pricked!" As the wicked warlocks dirty deed was complete, a dark hex befell the child cursing him. Magicus was filled with rage and guilt, for he did not protect the prince. As Malum began to crush Magicus with his vines, the mage looked up to the heavens as a beam of light shone down upon the dark warlock, burning him as he exclaimed in pain. Malums vines disappeared around Magicus he pushed back the warlock, trapping him in white oak.
The young mage then made his way to the child's resting place carrying him and teleporting them to another region close to Romas. Malum trapped in the oak roared in his failure.
Magicus looked at the burning kingdom from afar. His gaze shifted to the child in his arms.
"Oh sweet child..." He said brokenly. "If this curse should come true, death you will not fall on that glorious night, but sleep to be your ally to avoid death. As the rose will meet your finger, death will not meet you." He said casting his counterspell to protect Aduro.
"No one must now that you are a prince, but now you'll be known as a simple boy with his uncle." He said. As he waved his hand he built a hidden shelter for the two of them. Entering in he found the crib and placed the child in. He then fell weakly on the ground sighing. Looking out from the widow to see the burning Kingdom once again.
Malum then broke free from his white oak prison. As he looked down at the kingdom I'm fear, he summoned demons, mosters, and undead, to scourge the people and turn their heart into the darkness. As Malum saw this all his wicked grin grew, he knew that only one thing that would hinder him from the boy of December, Prince Aduro is now lost.
