I remember running.
Running to find them, my parents. I was in the woods when it all started happening, it was a flash in front of my eyes. They showed up from out of nowhere, and they were gone just as fast as they appeared. As I ran through the pack lands searching for my mom and dad all I see is destruction. Houses destroyed, families torn apart searching for one another.
When I finally get to my house all I see is red. Blood, blood everywhere; my parents laying in a puddle of their own blood mixed together holding each other. I fall to my knees and curse the wolves who did this, I don't even know why they came, what they wanted. All I know is they took everything from me.
That's all I remember from that day.
I stayed at the pack house for a couple weeks before they were able to find me someplace more permanent to go. I don't really know about any family from my mother's side, and what I do know of my father's side of the family is that most of them are gone. Alpha told me he got in contact with my father's aunt, supposedly my great aunt. She is from the red moon pack, and she said I could stay with her. I cried the whole ride there, I was so scared. I didn't know this lady and now I have to live with her. Little did I know that I had every right to be scared.
When we finally got to her house, it was right on the edge of the woods and was a little run down cabin. Made up of old wood that looked like it was ready to fall apart. As I am looking around an older woman opens the door, she's tall with brown hair and green eyes.
She led me into the worn down house, I followed slowly behind her. "Make sure you don't touch anything," she said with a hard cold voice. I followed her through the house and up the stairs, each step making a creaking sound as I walked across the floor boards. This house has to be over a hundred years old I thought to myself. I bump into my aunt and fall to the ground, I hadn't noticed her stop. She turned and glared at me "now listen here girl, you need to watch yourself; you best be ready to earn your keep and obea all the house rules or there will be punishments. Do you understand?" she said. I look down at the ground trying to avoid her cold eyes "yes" I whisper out my reply. "Good. Now this is your room, and you'll stay in it unless I call you. Do you understand?" and with a nod from my head she walked away leaving me to myself.
I open the door and see it's a small room with a small bed on the floor with a thin blanket, the walls are stained yellow and starting to chip away. There is a small window on one side of the room barely big enough to let in any light; and a small dresser sits along the other side of the room missing one of the drawers. I make my way to the bed and curl up with my knees to my chest and that's how I fall asleep.
Alone.
