107 degrees in Florida's southern city's and the air was stern with little movement. "Miami Beach Resort", a green and white sign said glistening as the sun pierced it with its rays. Our Ford drove closer to the boardwalk. With every 100 ft the smell of the sea salt and sand grew stronger. My Niece was only 5 and never had seen the beach and was in her car seat with a smile on her face. We parked on the beach and stepped foot on the sand. It was hot and burnt my feet terribly. I ran quickly to put my towel down while holding my niece in my hands. The heat was rising from the sand like it was a fire. We put sandals on and walked down the beach. I notice something odd though and I had a feeling in my gut someone was watching us. Now there is HUNDREDS of people at the beach everyday and maybe someone is looking at us. But this was different. I look behind me to see if someone is watching us but I was mistaken. My niece ran and was trying to catch a seagull while I collected sea shells. I soaked my feet in the cooling ocean waves when that feeling hit me again. I looked around while making sure my niece wasn't to far from my viewing distance. I called for my niece and asked her to come closer to me but she didn't hear me. Soon I saw 2 seagulls. Then three. Swarming my niece. I jogged to her and called her again. She had her head down and nothing got her attention I look over her shoulder, surprisingly she still didn't sense that I was there, but something was in her hands and it was moving. I turned her around and looked at the object. An egg. A round egg, with little grey dots around it. Seagulls were trying to grasp it from her but her hands cupped the egg just out of there reach. She ran back to the blanket and hit under the blanket regardless of the heat. I looked under the sheet and asked her what she is doing. She said she was helping the egg stay warm and protected. It was starting to get cloudy and the heat of the sand was no longer visible. I said we could take the egg home with us and keep it warm so the baby could hatch. We got home and dressed in some comfy clothes and found a heating pad with some blankets. We set the egg down gently and made sure the egg didn't get cracked. With the next few weeks going by and the hot air becoming humid the egg didn't budge. There was no sign of any life with the egg. We waited another 2 months and still nothing happened to the egg. Our hopes were starting to fade. A week after the 3rd month of us having the egg we gave up. We woke up that morning and were gonna take a trip back to the beach. I was just about to make scrambled eggs for breakfast but didn't have eggs. I walked to the store across my house and bought a six pack of eggs with a few bucks of saving. I got back home and left the eggs in the counter top next to the weird egg we had on the beach. I pulled out 2 eggs and some milk from the fridge I cracked 1 egg into a bowl and my phone started ringing. I reached for the egg and grabbed it while looking at my phone.

I cracked the egg. NOT THE STORE EGGS the egg, the baby egg, the egg that I had lost hope on. My heart raced and I couldn't believe what I had done. My niece walked out of bed saw the egg in my hand. I started seeing the whites seeping from. The sides and then.....a black yolk??? Wait no...what?

It moved. I dropped the egg in the bowl scared of the eggs movement. And a black hard circular figure came rocking out of the egg in the bowl.

My niece came up with the idea to call him Scrambles, thus starting the next story
