His Affections

You sigh and your visions get more blurry as your tears forming. Having a bad day and being called by your teacher just because of some drama your classmate put on. You fought for your own right and a teacher slapped your cheek, telling you that you're stepping the line. You also lost your papers that you should submit it today. You punch your teddy bear and groan after remembering all that misfortune. You feel so weak and your heart become more sensitive right now.

You reach for your phone and stare at the profile on the screen. You want to call for Rei, but a faint feel of doubt intrude your action. You have promised to your mom, that you will live independently, became strong, and stop being a mom-crybaby. Will you call out for him just to comfort your heart after a fight with friend? You let a tear flow down your reddish cheek, your slightly shaking hand call out for his number. You need him. And you decided to only hear his voice. Just to calm you down.

"Hello, sweetie,"

You inhale. Your mouth left open without any voice out. Your heart twitchs.

"Sweetie?" He calls you out once more.

You calm yourself down for some seconds before answering with a hum, "Hmm..." your voice are slightly shaking, and you know Rei realizes it immediately.

"(y/n)? What's wrong?" His voice is full of concern and worry.

"Nah, nothing Rei..." you answer weakly and he stays silent for a while, "I want to hear your voice,"

"Seriously, what's wrong?" He asks one more time.

You stay silent before answering, "Just a little quarrel with a friend... It's nothing big," you're trying to manage your voice. You don't want to make him worry again. You just want to hear him chatter and laugh. But of course, he knows you damn too well.

"I'll come over, okay?" He asks.

"No! No need to! I'm fine and it's almost midnight! We can meet tomorrow or this weekend right?"

"I'll come right away. Your voice is trembling and I knew something was wrong with you. I don't accept any refuse right now so wait for me,"

And with that you can no more argue. He cuts off the call and you only sigh heavily. After a minute, you run to your bathroom and wash your face. You don't want to worry him further more so you'll be pretending everything is alright. Then you take out some blocks of ice then put it on a handkerchief. You compress your eyes so it won't look so red later.

Ding Dong~

You have prepared yourself for that sign of Rei's arrival and yet you still jolt from that bell sound. You run and open the door for him.

"Oh, you arrive earlier than--"

Your words are cut by his action. He hugs you tightly and closes the door behind him. It looks like he run all the way here. He tries to catch his breath while hugging you. "Are you alright?" He finally manages to speak up.

"I told you that I'm fine! It was just a little bit cold so my voice was slightly trembling," you try to calm him down with a fake reason even though you have been waiting for someone to hug you after a tiring day. You try your best to hold back your tears after receiving his affections.

"Really?" Rei asks once more and shift his position. He lean his forehead on yours as he observe your (e/c) eyes. Trying to know what truly inside your heart. You're stunned with his red orbs. They sure are beautiful. They are full of concern and worry. "(Y/n)... are you alright?" He asks with a gentle tone.

You stay silent. You want to hide this but his straightforward affections break all the walls you built. You can feel your eyes becoming hot again. And you know you have failed hiding this weak side of yours.
