"Hey."

There was no answer on the other end. Gun looked at his phone and saw that the caller was still on but not answering. He tried again.

"If I made a mistake by calling, you can tell me." Finally sound came through. He heard Tay clearing his throat.

"I was just suprised that's all. How are you nong?"

"I'm great. How are you P'Tay?" Tay chuckled.

"What's up Nong Gun?"

"I saw the interview and thanks for not throwing us under the bus. You are still a class act. You looked great by the way, you should cut your hair like that more often." Tay had to take a deep breath before he answered. A huge part of him wanted to hang up but he held on.

"I would never throw you under the bus. You know that." Gun smiled.

"So, where is he? Does he know that you are calling me?" He who shall not be named. Gun knew that saying Off's name was still painful to Tay.

"He's here and yes he knows. We watched the interview together."

"Oh. Wow. You still have that thing don't you?" Gun chuckled.

"What thing P'Tay?"

"You are able to enchant us to make us slaves to you."

"You make it sound so sinister. I swear, I try to turn it off but I can't." Tay laughed.

"How else can I describe you? You had both of us fall madly in love with you at the same time. I know just how jealous he gets, are you sure he doesn't mind us talking." Gun laughed.

"He hasn't changed if anything, he's worse but I know how to handle him. He's right here beside me. You know he misses you right, although he's too bullheaded to admit it.

He was your bestfriend first.  I just wish we could all meet and have dinner or something one these days and just catch up. I miss you so terribly."

"Gun, you can't say things like that, not now and not anymore."

"Just because we ....um.....don't see each other doesn't mean I don't miss the friend I had in you. I still think of you as my best friend, I also miss your family too. They were good to me. I was in Chiang Mai the other weekend and it took all in me not to visit your grandmother.

You were there when I needed you and was a great a comfort. We really had great times. I won't forget all that."

"Gun don't. Please don't say such things to me. Remember what I said about enchanting us, this is exactly what I meant.

I'm trying to be mad at you but I'm forgeting what I went through. Listening to you puts me in danger of falling back into my bad habits. It's not fair to me."

"I'm sorry. I was sure you were feeling better. It's been almost a year. Actually, this is an invite to my private birthday party. It wouldn't be the same without you. I just thought, it's been a year already and you are over me and have moved on."

"If you were still hung up on him for four years, I don't have to explain it you what it's like.

Anyway, I will see about the birthday party."

"I am idiot. I shouldn't have called. I wasn't deliberately making things hard. I just felt that it was time to reach out to you.

You know, mend fences. Anyway, just know that we miss you so much and when you are ready. We will be waiting."

"Ok. Thanks for calling and send me the details to the party." Tay hung up and tried to get back to bed. It wasn't easy forgetting all about OffGun and now almost a year later the mention of their moniker Offgun still shredded his heart.

He had somehow managed to avoid meeting them at work and events and somehow the media and fans had picked up on the tension and nomatter how they tried to downplay it, they almost always guessed the truth.

Not that he would ever admit it to anyone. If this had been anyone else, he would have long forgiven them.
