It was all a blur. I can really only remember being kicked to the ground, then everything else was basically nothing in my mind.
I sat up in my seat, trying to move. I was bound to a chair, and my head hurt like hell. Glancing around, I saw others. Sky was on one side of me, but she wasn't bound. I looked to my left. There was Brady. He wasn't bound either. A glance around the room showed we were in a room like an auditorium, dark brown walnut chairs with plush red cushions. The same walnut tables, bare as they could be. There was someone talking, but I could hardly hear them through the ringing of my ears.
If they could only be quieter.. I may not be able to hear them but the sound is still making my head throb. And why was no one else tied up? Oh wait- There are only a few.. but..
I didn't want to question any further, going back to trying to find little details, just to keep my mind busy. Around one hundred.. no.. one hundred fifty kids, ranging from twelve to sixteen were sitting around the room. Most seemed to be listening, others were dazed. I saw a few that were slumped in their chairs, some of those were the ones that were bound as well.
Did they knock us out? Dragging proved to work so- Ah who cares. No one can hear my thoughts, I hope, so why even bother.
Sky seemed to notice I was awake and her eyes widened, silent surprise showing on her face. She turned her face up for a moment before slightly scooting her chair closer to mine. She moved to get the ropes off of me. I could only watch, noticing a dark figure walk out of the shadows. He was coming closer.
I think nails helped because Sky had gotten the bounds off in around ten seconds. Either that, or they weren't even that tight. I think I was too out of it to even really know. By that time the person has slinked over he was already pushing Spy's chair away from mine with his foot. The sound was awful, and loud enough to make my ears ring. Talking paused. Sky stiffened, and Brady dropped his head into his hands.
Honestly this was all chaos, that seems to be the only thing that happens when I'm around. After a while the talking continued. Fifteen minutes pass, before people are standing and start to be escorted out. I also stood, a bit wobbly at first, before shrinking close to Sky's side. Brady stepped around my chair to get over by us again.
"You okay?" He whispered hastily in my ear.
"I-I'm fine.. Just a little.. erm.. out of it," I responded. Sky let me lean on her and I saw a familiar figure come over to us.
Kyle.
He held one hand behind his back, waving the other at us. "Come. Since Mat was basically passed out for all of that, you guys can explain it to her as we walk. We're going to get you prepped for testing."
"Testing?" I questioned, starting to stumble after him.
Sky and Brady never left my side, leaving me grateful for the company.
Sky breathed out a sigh.
"They're going to take up to a room and tell us to do a series of things.. seeing what we do best. That's the basis of it, it's sort of complicated."
Brady looked away. "Great- more school.."
Kyle let off a dry laugh, facing ahead. "It's not what you're thinking. Although, a few tests are some subjects in school. Though, not as intense."
I blinked. "Uh- Okay.. what else am I supposed to have explained to me?"
"Well," Brady started. "We have to wake up at seven every morning and be ready by seven-thirty or else we will miss breakfast.. Um.. lunch is at noon, dinner is at seven.. and curfew is nine-thirty. Lights must be out by.. Uh.. ten I think. That's really all I got. I was hungry-"
Kyle remained silent, expecting these two to actually remember apparently this whole speech that I missed. A little annoying, but what can I say? We were kidnapped, and I'm just being stupid again.
"Yes, and.. Director Furn also said that our.. testing would be for two days, where our activity time and extra time usually are- And sorry if we aren't explaining this enough."
"I think I understand so far, it's alright. Is that seriously it? We got kidnapped just to.. to.. be.. ah.. what's the word?" I pulled away from Sky, glaring at the back of Kyle's head. All traces of my other sentence vanished as a completely different one took its place.
"Why are we here?! We need to go home, to our parents and siblings and pets.. You monsters-" I hissed and moved to kick Kyle, but Brady quickly pulled me back.
Kyle simply turned his head, halting in his steps. I noticed we were almost back to the room we were to stay in.
"The person you should ask is Director Furn, I simply work here. I was given no details, and I am not saying I agree with this but if I try to go against it, I will get killed. Alright?"
"No- Not alright!" Sky looked around after she said this, looking a bit finicky after raising her voice. "W-We have homes, you could've gone a different way about doing this. Not.. not kidnapping us! There are so many children here who just want to go home."
Kyle didn't reply again, turning back around to continue walking. I huffed and went forward, gently taking Sky's hand. I pulled her along, obeying this twisted, mind controlled person as we followed him to our cage of a room.
"When exactly are we going to eat? What time is it? Where are we? How many questions am I gonna have to ask you before I make you annoyed enough that you leave?" I let them flow out of my mouth, having bottled them up for so long. Annoying him was my top priority, honestly.
His face remained emotionless as he opened the door to our room, forcing us to walk inside.
"I cannot answer your questions." His voice sounded almost robotic now.
I rolled my eyes and just pulled Sky in with me. Brady followed, crossing his arms over his chest.
"There are uniforms in your drawers. Hurry and get dressed before I am reprimanded for you three and your behavior, as well as for simply being late."
I turned my back and headed off, mocking him quietly under my with an overdramatized eye roll. Sky gave a weak smile and we slipped into the room. I slammed the door forcefully and let go of her hand, going to my knees, then falling on my stomach for, reason being: simply not wanting to go anywhere.
"How much longer will we have to endure this, Sky?"
