Miss Pool has left the room to get something from her car and is coming back soon. meanwhile, we are just waiting for her. I look behind me slightly and I see him sit up, his feet up on his desk. I don't want to be here I think to myself, I really don't want to be around him, ahhhhhh.

I ignore his grinning face and sit in a different chair making sure there are at least 4 seats between us. Getting out my book "Five Feet Apart" I start to read, the words consuming my thoughts and all the possible negatives I could face. I love reading, it calms me, taking me into another world.

From the corner of my eye, I see him burning holes into the side of my face with his dark yet beautiful gold eyes.

Then he walks over and sits beside me again.
"What you want?" I ask him nicely.
"What you reading?" he asks, ignoring my question.

"A book." I say back, "You know, a rectangular paper object with words inside?" I say to him, the sarcasm lifting my voice.

"Yeah, I know what a book is." he laughs, but this time it's a genuine laugh, not his usual sarcastic one.

He then looks at me, his arum speckled brown eyes flicking to and from mine, as if he's ashamed of something.

The silence is then broken. "Welcome to detention" voice booms making us jump.
"Uggggh'." Jake groans.
"Hanna I trust that you will make sure Mr Mathews doesn't get up to any trouble while I go to the office and mark some papers?" She asks me, but glares at him, a hint of worry in her voice.
"Yea you can trust me," I say to her with a smile.
"Good I will be back shortly," she states leaving the room.

"Come on then," Jake says.
"Huh?"
"We have an hour in school with no teachers around, I say we raid the canteen," he smirks.
"You serious?"
"Do you really think I'm gonna hang around here like a good little boy?" he asks me, grinning.
"I,...." but before I can finish, he grabs my hand, and before I know it we are running down the hall, me slightly behind him as his clammy hand gently pulls me along.

"Ooh chocolate cake." he sighs. "Want some?"
"Umm',...OK." I say reluctantly.
As he hands me a plate, his warm tan hand brushes softly against mine. Making it tingle, but also sending cold shivers down my spine.
"Thanks." I say to him. He smiles, shoving the glorious looking treat in his mouth, urging me to want to do the same, so I do. "Yum," I say aloud.

"So?" he says to me, sitting on the counter top. "How have you been?"
"Good." I reply, hiding away my hate for him.
"You?"
"I'm cool." he says running his hand through his light brown locks.
"Cool," I say back, with a faint smile. We silently look at each other, which just makes this even more awkward. he then raids the cupboards, shoving everything sweet in his pockets, handing me a few goodies too. We just chill for a while on our phones.

He then looks at his light blue ice watch. Which looks smart with his lightly tanned skin tone. "Better get back," he says suddenly, breaking the awkward silence that's standing between us.

We race back to the classroom just in time. Within seconds in walks Miss Pool. "Has anything you would like to share happened?" she asks as if she had been preparing to say.
"Nope." I lie popping the p, smiling up at her.
"Very well you may both go now," she says to us reluctantly.

Gathering our things, we leave the room with cheeky chocolatey breath smiles, blown across our faces. "Bye." I turn to him.
"See ya around,... Hanna banana," he says followed by his signature grin.
