Guardians of the Balance: The Dark Calls (HIATUS)

Chapter 3: Attack I

Attack I 

"Death bringers?? Someone want to tell me what the HELL is going on?!" shouted Luke above the screams. I looked towards Chris and he nodded, telling me to explain quickly. 

"When I disappeared four years ago to this day it was because I was Called. I was taken to a group called the Sentinents. They told me that I had these... Powers and that I could control them to help them defeat the other two groups the Kingdom of the Eighth and the Ninth who were respectively trying to take over Earth an Paradoxym, Earth's sister planet on the other side if the Balance. Basically we win but lost a few members. Two of whom went missing. Me and Chris are the last ones of that group. And every so often another hold with these powers are born and if they are found in time they are sent off to train in the Academy, where thy join a small faction of this group, their own group who help us when we need the help. And from what you can see these are the Death bringers. Elite soldiers working for the Ninth." I rushed. Luke looked confused but seemed to get the gist of it. I looked at the soldiers and ran at them. I concentrated and there were shouts of pain and agony as the ground by them lifted itself and fell back down with a thud on top of them. Luke looked utterly confused. 

"You bluh wha?" he said. I ignored him and went to attack the others. I could sense the water within their bodies, and I got control of it. I began making them fight each other. Luke watched in horrified fascination as I continued making then fight. 

"You done yet Jace? Cos I'm not. There appear to be more and more appearing." Chris shouted across the room. He was stood by the hole in the floor moving faster than anyone could see, fighting them off. I surveyed the room and saw Luke stuck in a corner, surrounded.

Luke~ 

I was surrounded. Stuck in a stupid corner with people who seemed to want to kill me. And then something went 'click'. I could FEEL their minds. I reached out into their minds and I could see their deepest, darkest fears. I pulled it from their minds and could somehow make them see them. Yet when I looked after starting it, there was nothing near. I must have cast it in their minds, where only they could see... 

"Luke!! Luke!!! Dammit are you ok??" I heard a voice calling. I heard a voice calling. I looked over, saw Chris and nodded. A piercing scream came from all around me and the soldiers all fled, running into each other, fighting each other. I noticed Jace out of the corner of my eye and he looked bemused. 

"What?" I asked him. He shook his head sighing and went to get rid of the rest of the Death Bringers. I looked away and began thinking. How had I been able to do that? Could it be that I was one of these people with Powers?But then... That means I am one of -them- and I... Belong somewhere? Never in my life had I ever belonged anywhere. Not even with my parents.

Jace~

I looked over at Luke and he was deep in thought. I wandered over to him and gazed around, seeing screaming Death Bringers holding their heads, fearful expressions on their faces as they saw some non-existent enemy. I turned back to Luke and he was looking around, relief evident on his face.

"Luke, what happened here? Did you do something?" I asked curiously. He looked at me with fear in his eyes and was about to shake his head when he hesitated, thought about it and nodded instead.

"What did you do?" I said, looking at him intrigued. He opened his mouth a few times and closed it, looking like a fish, but no words came out. He swallowed and tried again.

"I-" He started but was cut off by Chris who was striding over here.

"We have to go. NOW!" He stated looking at the devastation in here. Luke nodded and walked towards the exit. I hesitated and began thinking. Why had they attacked now? And how had they known where we were? A rush of other questions flooded my mind, when suddenly Chris grabbed me and walked over to the exit with me in tow, being pulled by my nose.

"Owowowowowowow" I repeated over and over as I was dragged out. Chris chuckled.
