Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg had remarked the strange connection between the previous autopsy and the current autopsy. They were both mentioned in the letter from the stranger, and the victims both had very severe medical conditions that were not common in Norway. He tried to find the reasoning of why the stranger would have killed the victims, but he was not able to find it.

In order to determine the cause of death, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg decided to take blood samples from the corpse. After he took the blood test, performing the blood sample by extracting from the vein in the arm, using a hypodermic needle, he recognized the results from the laboratory. Therefore, the cause of death was lethal injection of sodium thiopental and potassium chloride. Despite the similarity of the method of murder, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg was convinced that the perpetrator without mercy, was Audumla Sørensen.

Once again, he determined the location of the crime scene and asked his partner, Aslaug Hansen to investigate the case with him. She agreed with the same expected professionalism, as if the earlier events in the study had never transpired. When they arrived to St XXX XXX, they could see the living space, consisting of a set of rooms, with several spaces in the building. Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg knocked on the door, and an old lady received him agreeably. Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg and Aslaug Hansen asked her for permission to investigate the household. She readily consented, and they questioned her over tea. After several hours of investigation and overly friendly conversation, they did not manage to uncover a single clue that was connected with the poisoning and Audumla Sørensen. As they were getting ready to leave in disappointment, the old lady offered some crisp, golden brown cookies and their spirits lifted marginally. They were crunchy-brown on the edges, and crisp throughout with big chunks of dark chocolate, along with little bits of toasted, chopped-up walnuts - Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg's favourite.

"Take some, my dear. I know last time you were here, you couldn't keep your hands off these golden sweets. " said the old lady, smiling at Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg.

Struck by the fact that the old lady knew about his favourite sweets, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg replied, " Of course, I do not doubt my inclination towards these cookies, though you might have mistaken me for someone else. I am sure it is my first time, coming in an apartment as this." He gently took the cookies from the old lady.

"Don't tell me I've got the wrong person! My old age must have played with my memory! I must apologize young man, I thought you were Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg. " she explained with ease.

At that instant, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg had grabbed Aslaug Hansen's hand, and had rushed out of the appartement. He was stunned by the old woman's words and needed to be away for a bit to sort them out. As he started to contemplate and investigate his memories, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg pondered on the correlation of his dissociative identity disorder to the circumstances presented. Although he did not expect too much out of this theory, a part of him was convinced of the participation of his alter ego in the case.

Back at the pathology laboratory, Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg and Aslaug Hansen agreed to put the case on hold for interventional reasons. Dr. Dag Yngve Nordvåg sat on a chair with a firm leather cushion, and reopened his letter that he had gotten from the stranger. Just up until now, he had realized that everything corresponded to the stranger's letter, and the upcoming event was going to be the death of his fellow beloved. However, he was not sure of who exactly would be killed next...
