Y/N

You made your way back to your apartment after a long day of school. Things had been piling up painfully quick and you weren't exactly sure if your mind could keep up with everything. It was as though you were in slow motion and everything around you was going at ultra-speed. You just got here and things were already plummeting downhill.

You walked to your bedroom and tossed your bag onto the floor, flinging your shoes off. Plopping face down onto your bed, you sighed. You turned over so that you were on your back. Looking up at the ceiling, you wondered what it would be like if you were a rock. You wanted to just sit in one position and not have to worry about stress. You wanted nature to erode you into nothing. You wanted to drift into an endless sleep for all of eternity.

You missed being a child. Someone that only has to worry about the little things in life rather than the large and unavoidable problems life throws at you. You wanted to curl up in a little ball and not have anyone bother or judge you. You wanted your mom. The only person in the world who gave a damn about you and your own well being. If only she was still here.

You sat up and hopped off your bed. You wanted something to do so you got on your desktop and started writing an essay for school. For your social studies class, you had to write a ten paragraph essay about your hometown and it's history.

You knew little about your hometown, Gwangju, since your mother never let you out of your room. You had a bathroom that was connected to only your room and your maid brought you food that your dad had the chef make. The only time your parents let you leave was to go to school.

By 8th grade, you were forced into getting homeschooled. You were never permitted to have friends and your father's bodyguards made sure of that. They walked you to your classes. They sat with you at lunch. They carried all your things. Some would like those special privileges but they felt more like laws. They were rules that constricted your body. It would seem like freedom but you constantly had people watching you and following you.

You were scared.

You didn't want people to carry your bags for you. You wanted independence. You wanted to be able to take care of yourself. Maybe if your parents let you not be dependent when you were little, you would know how to not be dependent now. You can't fight. You can't do shit. All you can do is sit and wait for people to help you because you're helpless.

With all these thoughts roaming your mind you immediately bolted up from your desk chair. You need to learn how to fight. How to be confident. How to win. Screw the essay. You had to go do something. After sliding your shoes on, you smiled to yourself. You grabbed your purse and opened your bedroom door. Suddenly, a thought traced back into your mind.

Taehyung.

The man on your bus from this morning. He seemed like he knows how to be independent. Maybe he can help you train to not be so scared of the world since you never got a glimpse of the real world. Every time a fight happened at school, your parents' bodyguards steered you in the other direction so you couldn't see what was going on. Your mom did that to protect you. Your dad did that to isolate you.

You needed to be strong.

With a determined expression on your face, you dug through your backpack and yanked out the note. With your phone in your hand, you left your bedroom, slamming the door behind you. You walked to your front door and dialed the number into your phone.

Here goes nothing.

You stopped at your front door and waited to hear the ringing. After a few rings, a deep voice spoke into the phone.

"Hello?" the man said.

"Hi. Is this Taehyung?" you stuttered nervously.

"Who else would it be? The Boogey Man?" You rolled your eyes to yourself at his cheeky remark.

"Well then."

"Y/N. It's you, huh? Say, why did you call me? Especially this soon? Do you need help? Are you in trouble? Did someone hurt you? Where are you?" He bombarded you with questions.

"Taehyung, I'm fine. I just have a question."

"Oh. Sorry. Continue." You smiled to yourself.

"Well, not necessarily a question. I need your help with something."

"With what?"

"Um. Actually, could we just meet up somewhere? Like a cafe?" you asked.

"So sudden..." he trailed off.

"It's kind of important. Let me ask you this."

"Uh-huh."

"Can you fight?" you nodded to yourself with confidence.

"Why?" he asked.

"I want to learn how to defend myself."

He gulped through the phone. It seemed like he was planning for a way in which we could do this. He started talking but you couldn't hear since his voice seemed far away. You noticed a few other voices so you assumed he was talking to people.

"Okay," he said, immediately grabbing your attention. "I have a group of friends that could also help. But I don't know if you would like what we're involved in."

Ignoring his last sentence, you sprung with immediate joy.

"Go on," you urged.

"There are seven of us. We could train you but not today. They're all busy. I can still meet up with you and make plans for everything. I think we could talk some more anyways. Since we didn't get to that much this morning."

You were suddenly happy that he sat next to you on the bus this morning and talked to you.

"Okay," you smiled.

"Meet at Moon Cafe at five?" he asked.

"Sounds good," you responded.

" 'Kay. See you there, love."

"See ya."

You left your apartment and walked down to the bus stop. Away you went.
