Try making the parents not always alcoholics please? Like have a motive for a character at least! We get it, he was loosing money or some shit and turned to alcohol. Real creative
Try something like in fuckurchickenstrips1 story ( don't fuck it up) where the dad was an asshole but because he was a close minded character that doesn't like to change. He gave no indication he was an alcoholic, not broke for that matter.
