STORY IDEA
Title: ?
Blurb:
What if the world had a data limit? Like computers or phones, what if there was only so much information that the world could hold?
Now, when your computer or phone starts running out of storage space, you simply go through it and delete the things you don't use. Useless things.
What if the world started doing that?
Started deleted things it deemed unimportant?
Things like clapped-out cars or long-dead washing machines that haven't been used for years?
Or things like, people?
The year is 2076. Deletion has been going on for decades, everyone's used to things disappearing as the Earth creates space for the ever-increasing data it holds.
But recently people have started to go missing. Disappearing off the face of the earth, just like the rubbish that gets Deleted.
But surely people aren't useless? Surely they're not getting Deleted?
Or is the data that they themselves created and overloaded the planet with finally costing too much?
