Chapter 1:
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
"Haley, WAKE UP!!!" A violent jolt by my roommate, Leah forced me to come back to the reality and I was back in my college dorm on a Thursday morning, unfortunately. I looked at my phone in hope that I had some time before class started. It was 6:55, I had slept in 20 minutes.
"Finally, you wake up! Did you know that you talk in your sleep? You kept saying the name Jason like five billion times... It was wierd." Leah explained loudly while I tried to recall my dream.
"I don't know anyone named Jason." I answered, still thinking back, but with no luck reviving the dream.
"You must know him! I read somewhere that everyone that appears in your dreams you have seen before." Leah remarked while brushing her long blond hair and applying some lip gloss.
"Well I don't remember anything." I told her, hoping that would get her to shut up. Then I got out of my bed quickly and made my way to the refridgerator.
"Well that's too bad, Jason sounded like he was hot!" she remarked and gave herself a smirk in the mirror. Then, Leah quickly turned around all of a sudden, as if she had forgotten something and then looked to me.
"Happy Anniversary by the way!!!" she yelled annoyingly. I didn't know what she was talking about, so I just flashed her a confused look.
"It's been five whole years since you disappeared and went missing!" I can't believe she actually remembered.
"What? It's a defining day in my best friend's life!! Did you think I would forget?" She tried to hold a plastic smile but I didn't feel like pretending. This "anniversary" was not a day I like to mark on my calender.
"Did I say anything else when I was sleeping?" I asked, trying to change the subject. She looked puzzled, trying to recall.
"Umm.. you said DON'T DO THIS a couple of times. JASON was definetely the prominent word, ohhh and you said the word, NIRAN.Whatever that means. As I said, it was wierd. You should be happy I woke you up before someone else heard you."
I didn't really understand what these things meant, but it seemed like nonsense to me. I decided right then that I would not let this dream mess up my day more than it was already destined to be. Had it really been five years? It was time to move on and stop thinking about the past. Leah looked at me blankly, her soft green eyes in sympathy of my confusion.
"Hey, Haley, It's gonna be alright." she grabbed her backpack and cracked the front door open, slowly. "We have an awesome party to go to tonight, so you'll have that to look forward to!! See ya then." she walked out the door and I winced. I hated parties. Especially Leah's parties.
Who am I kidding? Today's going to suck!
