It wasn't your fault, what happened. You yelled at him since he yelled at you. things happen, right? People mess up, it just happens. Sure, you could have gone a little easier on him and maybe you could have kept your job, but you did feel bad about it. Guilt was one hell of an emotion.
Lets be honest, you should have been way easier on him. He was dying and he needed a break from all of the stress. You owed him an apology. Sure, he wasnt entirely innocent, but you wouldnt force him to apologize.
For the last few days, you'd just been sitting on the couch and watching TV.
Maybe you'd flip through the paper to find a new job. For now, since Oscorp was a well paying job, you were doing okay. You cut your spending on groceries but raised it on alcohol. That was possibly a problem, but someone who was depressed deserved a drink.
How do you get over something like that?
Sure, it was one night, but that night was amazing. It really did show how much he cared and how serious he was about you. Things happen, people fight, but there was chemistry.
You straightened out your shirt, holding yourself rather tall as you approached the Oscorp building. Needless to say, you were scared to approach. What if he was angry? What if he didnt want anything to do with you after shouting at him? The man was dying for God's sake and you went off!
With a deep breath, you stepped into the building and approached the desk, "I'm here to see Harry Osborn."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"She doesnt need one," a familiar voice called from behind you. You turned, finding Harry walking your direction, "Hey (Y/N)."
"Harry! I... We need to talk," you stated quietly. He nodded, a hand reaching to take yours, "Yeah, we do."
------------
"(Y/N), just let me explain," Harry said as he closed the door to his office. You turned, shaking you head, "Harry, stop. I'm sorry for what I did. I shouldnt have gotten angry at you, you're dying for crying out loud."
"No, not that," he said, stepping to the side, "I've done... something that might save my life."
"Really? Oh, Harry! Thats grea-"
You feel silent as you saw the door open. None other than Maxwell Dillion was standing there but he just didnt look the same. His skin was a glowing blue, pulsing purple where his veins should have been.
"Max," you breathed, stepping forward to touch him, though Harry cut you off. He grinned, "I dont suggest you touch him," he said, his hand being the only thing between you and your friend. You gave a concerned stare, but all that was returned was a cold and absent minded expression. You turned your focus to Harry, "What have you done?"
"What have I done? I've saved two lives with one single crime! Is that so bad? Come on (y/n), you've got to side with me on this!"
"No!" You shouted, stepping back, "This is a human being! You cant do that!"
"You misunderstand, I didnt do this to him. Listen to me, (Y/N). I'm going to get Menkon, have him take me down to the 'special projects' and I'll have the cure," he tried to calm you but to no avail, "That doesnt make it okay! You dont use people like this, Harry!"
There was an aggravated growl from Harry, "Fine," and that was it. He turned his back and just left. It was his own office and he plainly left. You were left there with nothing more than a desk as Max turned and left as well.
Harry Osborn was practically signing up for his suicide and you could do nothing about it, nor did you want to.
