"The next words out of your mouth better be, 'I'm sorry' and 'Here's the antidote.'"
"Why? It was your own fault it happened."
"Jasper, you just embedded a poison coated arrow into my right shoulder, now is not the time to argue with me about whose fault it is."
Jasper rolled his eyes, "Jeez, Narc re-
"Don't call me that. You're already on thin ice, now give me the damn antidote."
Shaking his head Jasper continued, "Relax Narcissi, you're acting as if I've killed you."
Growling Narcissi grabbed the front of Jasper's shirt, "If you don't give me that fucking antidote in the next three seconds, I'll grind your family jewels into dust."
"Wouldn't they be your family jewels too? I mean, after all, we are siblings."
"Jasper, you idiot. Now is not the time I can feel the poison spreading through my veins."
Sighing Jasper reached into his back pocket and pulled out a single vile of amber liquid, "So dramatic. Here, Big Baby."
Narcissi snatched the vile from him, downing the liquid in one gulp, she then threw the vile against the wall where it shattered coating the floor with hundreds of shards of glistening crystal glass. "Since you shot me, you can clean the wound and then clean up that broken glass."
"It's your own fault you got shot, if you'd used the secret knock like I told you, I wouldn't have acted on defense when the door opened." Jasper huffed grabbing the healing kit from the cabinet.
"We are not in elementary school. I am not using some ridiculous knock. Besides where we are no one will be able to find us unless they have a map."
Grumbling Jasper started cleaning Narcissi's shoulder after he'd finished, he asked, "Anything good to report?"
"Nothing, unless you count a gaggle of blithering idiots putting gunk on their faces and laughing at pictures in a book, as something good."
"We've been watching them for weeks, and it's always the same. The Runt is never alone, she always has somebody with her. Maybe we should find a new target."
"No, if we want to send a message to the Elite, then we need to capture their leader's, precious little baby." Narcissi snarled as she stood up, pacing the length of the room.
Shaking his head and reaching for a powdered donut Jasper sighed, "But she's never going to be alone, it'd almost be easier to take her and her little gang too."
Narcissi froze and turned her steely gaze towards Jasper, "That's not a bad idea. The Elite would never see that one coming."
Jasper dropped his doughnut, its white sugar staining his black shirt as it bounced off his chest, "Narc, we can't capture and contain seven Elite offspring, they'll be just as deadly as their parents."
"Don't call me that, and actually, Jas we can. Those giggly imbeciles were talking about the big game coming up, you know the one that decides which branch of the Elites is best, they're all riding together in a big SUV. We could grab them on the road."
"Have you forgotten what E.L.I.T.E stands for? And that we're just Dregs?"
Snarling Narcissi replied, "Don't refer to us that way. I've told you that term is beneath us. How could I forget what Elite stands for? Its posted everywhere, as just another reminder that they run this world and we're at the bottom. That's what the message is for. To show those Extremely, Lethal, Impossible, To, Eliminate, assholes that they are not without their weaknesses. They are not without their faults. We are smarter than them, we can do this."
Jasper eyed Narcissi warily as he reached for another doughnut, "Okay, so you've got a somewhat plan for capture, but you're forgetting that we'd have to transport seven Elites and then contain seven Elites, versus the one that we were going to transport and contain. Not to mention we don't know what type of Elites they all are. We've never gotten close enough to see their markings. Figure that one out smarty pants."
Gritting her teeth Narcissi spat, "Jasper, I know you are not as stupid as you are playing, childish yes, but not stupid. So quit fucking acting like it and help me. Don't you want to make them pay for what they've done? Have you forgotten what happens at their games? Or what the name they've labeled us with, stands for?"
Wiping powdered sugar from his mouth, Jasper stands, rolling up his left sleeve, he thrusts his arm into the light, a long-jagged scar ran down his forearm right over the word DREG, "I will never forget. They may see us as Dregs, but we are more, but Narcissi if we do this, we could start a war that we may not be able to end. We could lose our lives, are you prepared for that?"
Narcissi reached out and tenderly traced the scar on Jasper's arm, "I am. The question is, will I be alone?"
Let's start planning."
