Every summer break, we would sunbathe in our bikini tops
Our heads would float with so much champagne and giggles
Flaunting in our big Chanel sunglasses while smoking a cigar
Drooling over guys as they took their shirts off

Was that happiness?
Was that life?
Joking around with your friends
Crowding the pizza place
Sneaking out at midnight to get drunk on the field
Dreaming under the velvet dark, filled with shimmering stars
Getting high beneath the tree and hoping to get a taste of real life

Inappropriate winks travelled down the classroom, just before we threw pens at our teacher
Disrespectful laughter echoed around, poking his brain in and out
The teacher spat 'failure' as we rushed down
Egging other school buildings
And smirking when we were so close to being kicked out

The life everyone wishes to go back to can never return and just for that reason my heart will burn

Skirts rolled up
Socks pulled higher up our knees
Bending over the desk and hinting a bit at our cleavage
Whistling at that teacher as he cycled down the road
Feeling no remorse revealing your best friend's crush

My sunken heart cries out every time memories flash by
Remembering when we celebrated sweet sixteen together
And complaining about guys as the wind blew our hair
The bus was filled with laughter, every time we toured around
And I still wonder... Would the good old days ever return?

Cold whispers paced around
Crying over breakups as mascara ran down
Alert, alert fake friend found
no wonder why your boyfriend wasn't around?
Since your friend was so loyal she wouldn't have stolen him
But shouldn't the boy be blamed as well as your friend?

Wishing that I could go back to those days
When the sweet smell of smoke was lingering outside of school
After daydreaming throughout the entire lecture
We were linking arms with the bad bitches from the school close by
Inappropriate whistles heard as we glide down the aisle
Getting our engines ready before racing against the senior guys
Coming home to a full-cooked meal
While some died from starvation when their parents were too busy getting drunk

Wasn't life so easy when we had nothing to worry about?
When we were only getting high under the trees and dreaming under the stars
Now there's no more breaking into the teacher's office
No more laughing out loud in buses

And I'm no longer able to feel free
And no longer am I able to be rebellious
