Yukina's POV
I know I should have moved but I felt as if someone put a spell on me. The feeling was horrible and I so desperately wanted to move but couldn't. Just as the shadow-like spear was about to pierce my throat everywhere went black. The moon shaped tattoo appeared again on my hand and it glowed blue and white. As soon as I knew it, some unknow reflexes that I didn't know I had kicked in and I dodged the attack. Power started to flow in me and my hair started to float and turn blue and white and my eyes began to glow white. My body moved on its own and I swiftly moved behind the creatures back. A long blue spear, that its blade is curved into a crescent moon, appeared in my hand and I immediately stabbed the creature. The energy from that one blow created a huge gust of wind causing Hiroaki, Yuna and Reo to cover their faces and try and stay on their feet.
The creature's blood splattered on the floor and it eventually died. My different coloured hair, glowing eyes and weapon disappeared along with my energy. I tried to hold my balance but couldn't and ended up falling over backwards. I had almost lost my consciousness but not before a pair of familiar hands had caught me leaning against the wall. My vision was blurry so I couldn't make out their face and all I could hear was a few muffled voices,
" -aru...," I could only hear a few words or half a word, "-she.....lost energy..........power..............awaken..........hospital........now.............-" The last words that I heard before I fully lost consciousness was, "-attacked................Scythe..." Then everywhere went black...
-In the hospital-
As I open my eyes I slowly scanned my surroundings and noticed I was in a hospital. Although I don't think it's the normal hospital that everyone goes to. Something seemed.....different. I got up and noticed a sleeping Yuna on a chair but resting on my bed. Just then I remembered everything. A transformed Yuna, Hiroaki and Reo. A deadly creature. And a different me?
"Hey, Hey Yuna wake up, " I shake Yuna continuingly, "where is everyone else? Is the school okay? What happened to those creature thingies?" I keep bombarding her with my unanswered questions and she slowly starts to wake up. As her eyes flutter open she is suddenly full of energy as soon as she sow that I was up. "Yukina, you're awake!" she exclaims with joy, "Ya, of course I am why wouldn't I?" I asked confused. She suddenly embraced me in a hug and since I didn't know what to do I hugged back. "I thought we lost you." she said nearly crying, " Why, how long have I been asleep?" I ask. She breaks the hug and looks at me concerned, "Yukina, you've been in a coma for 12 days." I take a while to register down what she has just told me.
Did she just say 12 days? "What?! Are you serious?" She looked at me dead serious, "Unfortunately, yes." She replied, "What about those creature things? Are they still in the school?", "Luckily, no. Me, Hiro (A/N: Hiro is short for Hiroaki) and Reo took care of them cause there wasn't that much that invaded your school." I breathe a sigh of relief but still concerned about what happened a few days ago. Yuna soon got up and headed for the door. "Wait where are you going?" I asked. she turned around enthusiastically with a smile and her arms behind her back, "I'm gonna inform everyone that your awake."
"Oh, alright." She walks out the room leaving me in deep thought. Why is all of this happening to me? Why can't it be someone else? All I asked for is to live a new life. New, but normal. Just then, my mind went back to some days back to when Haru wanted to meet me after school at the gate. I had never really thought about it before but why didn't Haru come? He looked so serious in meeting me after school and knowing him he wouldn't just allow a teacher to interrupt plans he was going to have. He would have given some kind of stupid excuse that surprisingly would work and he would have gone just like that. So what exactly was he doing?
Just then the door swung open and Yuna, Hiroaki and Reo came in quickly, "Oh thank goodness your alive. Otherwise my father would have killed me!" Hiroaki exclaimed, "Y'know, for a second there I thought you had actually cared considering the way you've acted towards me since we've met." I said teasingly, "Don't get too comfortable. Keep what I said in mind cause you won't hear it again. Not from me at least." He said back. A tick mark appeared on my forehead, "Who said I was getting comfortable?" I asked sarcastically. Me and Hiroaki were literally at war in our minds and in my perspective, I was winning. You could see lightening connecting our heads to show it. Unexpectedly, Reo came and held my face with his hands and brought me closer to his face. A slight blush came over me by his actions cause I thought he wasn't the type to do that. Then he placed his forehead on mine and closed his eyes.
While he was doing that I asked what he was doing. "Oh, that's just his way of saying he's glad you're alright." Yuna answered politely. "Oh ok." I said a bit more calm cause I knew what was going on. He soon moved away and smiled at me and I smiled back. He's such a quiet cute cinnamon roll compared to the hot-headed freak over there. Yuna soon broke the silence and said, "C'mon now, you don't have to hide behind the door forever.................................Haru Akatsuki." My eyes widened at the name. Haru was here? Does he know them? "Haru are you there?" I asked concerned. He came out the door and strangely enough I was actually quite happy knowing that my best friend was here. "Yes Yuki, I am and sorry I hid behind the door. I just felt useless. Whenever I'm in trouble you always seem to be there for me but now when you needed help the most....I wasn't there for you." He said feeling guilty. His words touched me. I didn't know that's how he felt. "It's alright, Haru. I am still alive and well right now so don't feel guilty and useless. As a matter of fact, you were there for me one time before. Back in elementary school and I didn't have friends. You weren't afraid of me and you accepted me as a friend despite my reputation I had with people. You're so kind hearted and I am thankful for that. Thank you Haru." Wow that was a long speech. And I noticed that he blushed a little and looked to the side avoiding eye contact. I saw him mouth a small 'you're welcome' and I smiled at his actions.
"Well sorry to interrupt the moment, but we need to discuss some things." Hiroaki bluntly interrupted. He just had to ruin the moment -_- . "Oh yeah that's right. Yuki, the thing that you fought off just over a week ago was called a Scythe." Haru added. A Scythe. That's what attacked me before. It sounds more serious than a demon. "Exactly," Yuna said, "These creatures are far more gruesome than anything you can think of. The first generation of Scythes follow the orders of their Grand Master, Asteroth and are a lot more intelligent. Those are the ones you should look out for. You can identify them by making sure you look at their tongue carefully. It has a purple gem stone on it." "Right." I reply. Then Hiroaki continues for her, "Whereas the second generation are a lot faster but still rather stupid and act on their own accord. They're easy to beat you just have to be fast. It's the kind that you fought before but you used too much of your mana that caused you to faint." He said. Now everything seemed a lot more clearer than before. "Alright but can I have some time to think about all this? Also I would like to talk to Haru about something." I asked them, "Sure." Hiroaki said, "Take your time." Yuna also said and headed for the door along with Reo and Hiroaki.
When they left I turned my head towards Haru. This is it . I'm gonna ask him why he wasn't really at the gate. " What do you want?" Haru asked. " Why weren't you at the gate before when you said you wanted to meet me after school? I want the truth this time." I said, looking as serious as I could despite all of the suspension killing me inside, "Alright Yukina," He said,
"I'll tell you."
