Dewi is a police officer who served the POLRI (Polisi Republik Indonesia — Indonesian Republic Police) department that handled a murdering cases. She was one of the best policewoman there who could clear more than 8 cases in her first year.
One day, her department was preoccupied by several homicides which occurred in close proximity time. Her department thought it had a different killer which just happened to be close together. Dewi somewhat disagreed with that, she had a different opinion about that case. She thought it was a serial murder which done by same person.
That day, she tried to insist on requesting a reinvestigation for those cases to her chief, "Sir, please! Trust me, all of this case must be related to each other. This must be done by a serial killer. I'm sure of it. Let's do a reinvestigation."
Her chief was bored with Dewi's stubbornness. He thought he already explained to her why they believe it was done by a different person before. He refused her request, "Oh Dewi, come on! We are the police, we can't draw a conclusion just based on our intuition!"
Dewi felt rather offended by her chief words, "Sir! Please consider this one more time. this is not just an Intuition, all of this case has the same pattern sir."
"Oh... come on! Bring back all your common sense! You're one of the best members that I have. How did all that bullshit come to you? Which side do you mean? how could you say all of these cases have the same pattern?"
His chief takes some files on his job desk. There are files of three victims in the cases that they were investigating, "Look! Look at all of those three victims! Victim number one is an old widow was found with the knife on her head, victim number two is an elementary student who was found with the knife that teared his hand and he was died because lost a lot of blood and for the last victims, victim number three, he is just an intern teacher of the private school who was found with a knife that stuck on his chest" He sighed, "See? Maybe all of them were killed in the same cruel ways, but see to their backgrounds and the way they were killed! I can say it's impossible to be done by the same killer, all of those cases absolutely had different motives! And one more thing all the victims have no relationship with each other."
"Sir, but it still a chance when we meet psy—"
"Enough! All of this case will be investigated separately! This is my final decision! No Objection!"
It ended there. Dewi can't say anything more. No matter how eager and confident she is, she has not enough power to debate his chief decision. She comes back to her desk.
Their argue was loud enough to be heard by all the staff in that office. They never know, there is one of the staff in that room who makes an evil smirk listen to their argue.
It's already a month from the day that she argued with her chief that time. Those three cases were really deadlocked. They couldn't even find new evidence, let alone to solve that. Dewi also still tried to remind her chief about her deduction. But it's useless, now it's not just the chief, now all the staff in her department was bored and ignored her.
She was just tired of all those cases. So, she asked her boyfriend to hangout and now she is waiting for her boyfriend who will pick her up.
She waited for her boyfriend a long time enough. Considering this is a weekend, she thought her boyfriend ought to be stuck in a traffic jam. She was too lazy to wait outside; she chose to get in and preen again while waiting.
When she was busy with preening, suddenly her phone rang. At first she thought it was her boyfriend who called to tell her why he was late, but when she checked her phone, that was a call from an Unidentified number. She thought it was a bit smelly. Her number is only known by few people. Curious, she picked it up.
