Chapter Two: Familia Grande

Atlas was finally done with his work for the day. "Are you ready?"

"Yes," I got up and stretched making my shirt rise up to show my belly button.

"Follow me in your car." He started walking out of his office.

I started towards my black Honda Civic. I waited for Atlas to start driving before I pulled out on to the street after him.

"Alex! Honey, I'm home!" Jay called out.

I scrambled off the bed and down the stairs. As I reached the bottom step I leaped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. I smiled up at him. "I missed you."

Jay brought his lips down and kissed me with a passion. I immediately responded. Jay was the love of my life my soulmate.

Atlas finally pulled into a driveway with a gate at the end of it. I saw him push a few buttons before driving through the now open gate. I followed after him.

The driveway was long and trees were all around. We pulled up to a house the size of a "small" castle.

What the hell? Was he rich?

He parked in front of the house and motioned me to part next to him. I did and then got out grabbing my duffel bag I had packed the previous night.

"Big family?" I laughed nervously.

"Something like that." He half heartedly smiled.

He nodded his head toward the front door. I was about to walk passed him when he grabbed my duffle bag. I looked back at him with an arched brow.

"What kind of gentleman would I be if I let you care this inside?" He chuckled.

I huffed and rolled my eyes at him. I didn't need him or anyone else to help me. I was perfectly capable. "I can do it myself!" I spoke, anger lacing my voice.

Atlas looked at me for a moment deciding on whether or not to say anything. He didn't and handed me my bag. I grabbed it and walked into the 'house.'

As soon as I walked in all heads turned towards me and everyone beamed at me. They're were about 20 people looking at me, all smiling.

A chorus of welcomes came from the crowd.

"Don't overwhelm her." Atlas spoke over my shoulder causing me to jump and start falling until his arms wrapped around my waist stopping my fall. That's when I felt the tingles from his touch. "Are you okay?"

I nodded and then I pushed against his chest. He let go of me. I looked around and saw only a few people left in the room.

Thank the goddess!

"Let me show you to your room."

"Okay." I whispered.

Atlas took me up two flights of stairs and down a very long hallway. Man was this house big. We reached a small kitchen and dining room, when he pointed to a door across from the table.

"That's your room." He mumbled sounding a little sad. "Over there is the bathroom," this time he pointed to another door.

"Thank you. You really didn't have to do this." I smiled at him.

"I did need to do this." He then walked into a third door I hadn't noticed.

Was he mad at me?

I hope not. I don't even know what I did.
