Cable Girls (Naruto AU)

Chapter 1

A pink-haired woman runs though the Coblesotne streets of Konoha late at night only to be seen under the lamp post separated every few feet. She fears that she might have been followed and tries her best not to make much noise. however, this proves to be difficult with the loud clacking of her high heels and the noise of the dangling sequence from her short black flapper dress. She continues to run as the loud music from the elite gathering begins to fade into the distance. Once in a comfortably safe distance, the pinkette stops and pulls out a beautifully large diamond necklace, studying every inch of the jewelry she spent months trying to steal.

"yes, this should be enough to get me out of Konoha."  She says aloud to herself.

"Where do you think you are going?" A man yelled from behind her.

She turned around to see a tall dark figure pointing a handgun at her.  She knew he was the host of the party and owner of the diamond necklace.

"Don't you dare move!" He yelled inching closer. "If you shout, I swear I'll kill you. Give me back my diamond!"

The women slowly start to back away from the man "This is not your Diamond! This was my great grandmothers, a family heirloom. It was stolen from us and I intend to take it back!"

The man just laughed at her "Oh you are full of shit! I specifically designed that for my wife when I was overseas! It is one of a kind!"

The pinkette was caught in her lie.

She quickly put her hand up with the diamond dangling from one. "Okay, I am sorry, I needed it to feed my children" another lie, Honestly she had been lying for so long she forgot what was even the truth for her at this point. she continues, moving closer to the armed man. "here, I will give it back but please do not call the police. I promise to never do it again my children need me!"

Just as he is about to grab the jewel she quickly lunges at the man. It soon became of the fight for survival over the loaded gun.

*BANG*

She looks down to see the man is no longer moving and covered in blood. She panics quickly gathering her stuff making a run for a dark tunnel ahead. Before she got that far a police paddy wagon pulled up blocking her only exit. She knew at that moment it was all over for her.

"Goodbye freedom."

"So you were found in the street with a dead body and a priceless Dimond neckless, but you had nothing to do with it? Why should I believe you?" The older man said as he took a seat in front of the women's jail cell.

She laid on the cot only looking at the blank wall. "Because I am telling the truth. It was in defense."

The man leaned back in his chair reading through the papers in his good hand. "Sakura Haruno. age 25. Prior arrest for theft and fraud.... and now for murder."He continues "do you know what happens to those that are found guilty of murder? "

Execution by hanging. Soon tears run down her face in fear.

"That is, unless you choose to cooperate with us." The man says.

She slowly gets up facing the man, he had a bandage wrapped around his head covering his left eye along with his arm that was tucked away. She was confused. "You are not a detective are you?"

He shakes his head no. "I am something more powerful, but I am in need of assistance that many can not do."

Sakura was still confused "Like what?"

The man leaned in closer "Stealing. but this time, for me. What do you say?"
