Chapter Five - "What the Future Will Hold"

*Nana's POV*

(Y/N) came to comfort me.
He's already here for me.

"I'm sorry for crying again," I said. "I was just thinking about the future again. I'm still scared..."

"The future is kind of scary," (Y/N) told me. "But all the things I said at the Revue earlier, I still mean them."

"Y-you do?"

"Yes. What, did you think I was lying?"
(Y/N) laughed.

"No, of course not. (Y/N), do you think we can ever do better than our last 'Starlight'?" I asked.

"We can always do better. And now that the Revues are over, we can have fun with our friends at school, too."

"To tell you the truth, I miss hanging out with Clau-chan and the others," I said. "But most of all, I miss hanging out with you."

I turned away to look at the sun setting, which was pretty beautiful-looking.
"Now, can I ask again? Do you love me back?"

"Banana... You'll always be mine," (Y/N) said, rushing up to hug me.

"Never let me go," I felt his embrace warm my body. It's the best feeling in the world.

I wish I can stay in this moment forever.
Actually, I can.

I have finally found my Star. It's so bright, but I can actually see it.
It's not something, it's someone.

(Y/N), still hugging me.
He's my Star. He outshone the dark spots in my heart.

If I hadn't met him, would I be reliving the 99th performance again? Probably.
But I've learned - that's no way to live.

I didn't take into account my friends' feelings.
But now, (Y/N) saved me.

I couldn't possibly leave him.
No more Revue, no more fighting.

Just us two, here, by ourselves, no one to disturb us.

This is the feeling that I remember from when I first met him, all those months ago.

There's one last thing I want, though, before this day ends.

Finally, (Y/N) stopped hugging me.
"That was a long hug!"

"Ha ha, yeah, sorry," I apologized. "Hey, can I ask for one more thing?"

"Sure!"

"Could we kiss again? Erm, to make up from our last one from the Revue...?"

I began to blush. I don't normally do that, so that's also a new experience for me.

"Oh, Banana, of course!"

He brought his face close to mine again, and our lips connected.

This feels different than before.
...As if it's backed with even more of our feelings.

...Or maybe I'm just thinking too much about a simple kiss.

We broke off from the kiss, but he continued to stare into my eyes.
He placed his hand on my cheek.

"You're incredibly beautiful, Banana. So radiant, so cute, so red."

Red? Must be me blushing.

I smiled. "Thank you, (Y/N)."

After that, we walked to the Starlight Hall together, hand in hand.

It's split into a girls and a boys section, so he left me to go to his side.
