Stepping out of the taxi, suitcase in your grips, you looked over the paper a few more times just to be sure.
This had to be the place, why else would there be a massive mansion basically in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but trees?
Taking a deep breath, you tucked your worries away as you walked up to the front gate, strangely enough, it was open.
The front yard had a few stone statues of women in various poses, many of them young and beautiful.
Shrubs of pink roses lined the path you walked along, a bird bath or two were on your sides.
Who did all the gardening? Who ever it was must have had a massive green thumb.
Each of the shrubs smelled sweet and welcoming. The lawn was well kept as well, soft short grass cut in perfect lines.
You could definitely see yourself getting used to this, just sitting out side, on one of the many stone benches with a book in your hand.
That would be a nice, relaxing morning.
You looked up at the mansion, you swore you thought you saw a curtain move.. Almost like someone was keeping an eye on you.
After feeling a slight shiver go down your spine, you quickly ran up to the front door, to ring the bell.
After the bell rang, a voice yelled out to you. "COME RIGHT IN!"
It startled you for a second, but you twisted the knob and entered the massive mansion.
Once inside, the decor of the place took your breath away, beautiful wooden interior laced with scarlet soft carpets and rugs.
Many pictures lined the walls, each with golden frames. Others were paintings of a garden with many shades of pink.
To your right was a living room, in front of your was a grant staircase, to your left was the dining hall.
Yet, as lively as the decor was, it was rather silent. Hadn't someone yelled to you? Where were they?
"Hello?" You called up the stairs, maybe they were in their room?
"Be right down!" A males voice yelled back, rather quickly.
"Okay!" You yelled back. You sat your suitcase down, leaving it by the coat rack by the door.
After a complete minuet, someone came sliding down the railing of the stairs.
One they landed on their feet, they put their hands on their hips and smiled at you, revealing their very pointy fangs.
"Ah, you must be the maid that Cupid hired?" He asked, with his hand out.
You nod. "Yes, I'm y/n. I'm going to be working here for the summer." You shake his hand.
It was cold, but slightly warm? It was strange.
He was a skeleton monster, taller than you by a lot. His skull had strange markings, black stripes ending in swirls.
He was dressed in casual clothing, yet it was all Halloween themed. Even though it was Halloween wasn't for a couple months.
And, two purple bat wings were folded against his back.
"Nice to finally meet you. Cupid has talked so much about you, I hope we get along, Peaches." He winks.
A faint blush rises on your cheeks. "P-peaches?"
He shrugs his shoulders, crossing his arms. "Yes, since you're cute and smell so svweet."
How could he smell you? He didn't even have a nose!
