Prologue 3: And So It Begins

"B-bears?" we were now all staring in surprise and confusion at the strange bears.

One was sinister and creepy with one half of its body was pure white, the other was black with a slightly glowing red eye.

The other had a look of innocence with it having the same pattern but instead of black its left half is pink and the red eye was in the shape of a heart.

The more unsettling one opened its mouth to speak "hello new students! It seems you've all gotten to know each other!"
It's voice was uncomfortably happy.

"it was my idea to let you all talk for a few minutes before the entrance ceremony." the cute pink one said with a giggle. The black bear then started talking again

"anyway enough of that, I'd like to say hello. Hello! I am monokuma and I am this school's principal!" the pink bear spoke after him.
"and I'm the vice principal, aikuma!" the bear who I can tell is a girl said with a smile.

There was a long moment of silence until through that silence sachiko's voice yelled out "w-what the fuck!?" that was all it took to snap us out of our tranches "talking teddy bears?" akira questions

Monokuma looks a bit annoyed at her words "we are not teddy bears." he points to himself "I am your principal." then he points to aikuma "and she is your vice principal."

Kana opens her mouth to talk "whatever teddy two-tone just tell us what's going on." monokuma let's out a sigh "fine, we are here to welcome you into your new lives here at hopes peak academy!"

Akira then starts speaking "and by 'new lives' you mean what exactly?" she asks with a confused expression.
"it means what it sounds like book worm." monokuma replies, leading ren to speak next "w-wait D-does that mean we'll be here for the rest of our lives!?" she asks "that's right toots!" monokuma yells before aikuma takes over "it's like my cousin said, unfortunately you must all live a communal life together in this school." she says with a sad look.

"now then!" monokuma begins "any questions?"

"uhh I have a question." ayatsu exclaims.
"yes! pigtails what is your question?"
"I'm just gonna ignore that remark." she sighs.

"aren't there meant to be guys here as well, I mean I look around and there's only girls."

She's right! I can't believe I didn't notice it before but there's no boys here.

"oh them! well if you must know." the two-toned bear begins "they're in the other half of the school." aikuma finished.

"the other half" I question.
"w-when will we see t-them?" asks ren with a worried expression on her face.
"well, if you keep living your lives peacefully, you won't get to." monokuma began "but~"
He started again "if someone were to disrupt that peaceful life, you might just meet them~"

I look at the bear in confusion "what do you mean by 'disrupt'?" I ask "well~ if one student we're to murder another." we all gasp and look at him with shock. "k-kill!? W-what the fuck is this!?" sachiko yells out, that yell was followed by Emiko.

"why t-that?" her face had a look of fear "well it would just be boring if you all just went around working together!" he says "And besides look on the bright side I'm letting you get away with murder!" he follows.

"b-but to kill someone t-that's *hick* thats j-just."
Ren suddenly fell to her knees, she had tears streaming down her face, Sara comforting her.

"to kill someone is to kill someone, no ands, ifs or buts about it." he replies ignoring the fact she was crying.

Aikuma on the other hand noticed this and jumps down to Ren placing her paw on the girl's shoulder "I don't like it as much as you do but I unfortunately can't do anything about it, I'm sorry."

"then why are you here?" Sara asks the pink bear "to give you hope." she looks up at the pink haired scientist "so if you need me for anything, just ask." she smiles sweetly.

"Anyway that concludes the entrance ceremony, it's getting late so go to your dorms, grab your keys on the way out, bye bye everyone!"

And with that they were gone.

I walk up to ren and kneel down "don't worry, we'll get out of here one way or another, I promise." she looks up at me and wipes away her tears "t-thank you." I smile at her.

We all start to walk away from the gym, grabbing our room keys as we go. I look around for a bit until I find a hallway with row of nine doors each had a nameplate with each of our names embroidered onto them.

I find the one with my name on it and walk inside the room was nothing special, other then my violin and sheet music that I am thankful is there. There was all you'd expect from a dorm room:

A bathroom.
A bed.
A desk.

But there was something on that desk that caught my eye.
A small, electrical device. It looked like a smart phone.
"what is this?" just as I said this Aikuma popped up "hello!"
I give a yelp of surprise and turn my attention towards her.

"oh I'm sorry I startles you, I just came here to give you info on that device." she says with a smile.

She then turns my attention to the device on the desk "that right there is your E-handbook, it is your most useful tool in this wonderful establishment!" she exclaims with enthusiasm.

"what does it do?"
"Well it provides you with info about your fellow Classmates like there talent, age height." she explains.
"and it also has a map of the school, just incase you get lost." she continues.

"and last but not least: the school rules. They are listed on your E-handbook so make sure to look through them OK? bye bye!"

After that she was gone.

"I guess I should hang on to this." I say putting it in my skirt pocket. I then decide to change out of my clothes and put on a pear of pj's that was neatly folded on my bed.

After that I give a tired yawn and get in bed, those words from earlier still lingering in my mind: 'if one student were to murder another.' in other words to se the other, we have to kill.

The very thought fills me with Despair.
