Alex's Pov:
While I was waiting for Ariana to come back upstairs, I spied her phone lying on the table. I thought to myself, 'Wouldn't it be funny if...' I swung myself out of the tree and grabbed her phone. I slide the screen to unlock it. "Crap!" I whispered. She had a passcode. I guessed the stupidest thing ever, "Alex-is-the-bestest-friend-i-ever-had-and-i-love-him" and it unlocked.
I looked to make sure the coast was clear and proceeded to make the "fierce" face and take selfies. I was saying in my head, 'Werk it gurl!' Just like Ariana always said, and made duck faces. I heard footsteps so I stopped taking pictures.
I went and put some of the pictures as her lock and home screens. Thats when Ariana walked in.
"Hey, what are you doing on my phone?" Ariana said as a huge grin came across my face.
"Nothing" i replied
She snatched the phone from me and I swear that look on her face was priceless! It was a mixture of the Grinch's smile and a rat dog's smile, and I fell on the floor, my lungs gasping for air as I laughed without making any noise.
"ALEX JOHN THORNE! HOW DID YOU EVEN GET IN MY PHONE?!?!" Ariana shouted.
"Well," I started with a handsome smile, and eyebrows slightly arched. "Because I knew you were so madly in love with me, I knew the only passcode could be 'Alex-is-the-bestest-friend-i-ever-had-and-i-love-him'." I said while smirking.
Ariana walked over to me a playfully punched me in the shoulder and I had an idea.
I fell on the floor and showed only the whites of my eyes, holding my breath. Ariana started laughing and telling me to get up, but after twenty seconds knelt next to me and was obviously panicking.
"Alex!... Alex! Please wake up!.... I didn't mean it! I mean... I didn't try to hurt you! I was only..." Ariana said between tears.
I quickly sat up and stole a kiss on her lips before running into the bathroom and locking it. Ariana was furious, but not like angry angry, just the way friends get. She repeatedly pounded on the door and yelled at me to let her in.
Once I opened the door, she tackled me onto the floor, but being the quarterback, I was strong enough to flip her over and we both began to laugh.
"Oh Alex. I love being with you." Ariana said.
"Soooooooooooooo... how do we get this triple sleepover started?" I said.
"Hmmmm... Aha! How about some karaoke?" She offered.
"Okay, but PLEASE don't make me sing Spice Girls!" I said
"Too late!" She said, putting a disc in that was called 'Wannabe' and i groaned.
The music started and Ariana started dancing like someone who had had one too many twinkies. We danced together while I sang, and i twirled her around, all the while us laughing together.
" If you want my future forget my past,
If you wanna get with me better make it fast." I started to sing in my 'super girly' voice, which made Ariana laugh even more.
When it was over, I tried to pick out a slow song for Ariana to sing, and I picked 'A thousand years' by Christina Perri. When she started to sing i was caught off guard. I mean seriously, it was like ANGELS were singing because she had such a soft yet moving voice.
"Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you, for a thousand years." Ariana sang with such passion that a tear slowly went down my face.
I wrapped her in my arms and we danced slowly, savoring this moment together before she had to move. As the song almost ended, I squeezed her closer and our faces were almost touching. She sang the last few lines in a whisper, staring into my eyes, me staring into hers. I leaned in closer and we kissed. It was perfect. She was perfect. That's when I knew I couldn't live without her.
Reality punched me in the gut as I realized she would be gone in six days. I whispered to her, "I love you."
"I love you too." Ariana said back.
"Distance can not keep us apart and you know that. We will be together. Always. I will do whatever it takes, and we will stay together." I said
"I know you will Alex, but I'm sorry. We can't stay together." And just like that, that spark in her eyes had left.
Later, we ordered pizza and ate fiercely, wanting to do more sleepover things. We sat at the table thinking about what we should do next.
"How about we watch a horror movie?" Ariana suggested.
"Eh, too scary... For you i mean... Obviously not too scary for me..." I said, angry at my terrible save.
"Come onnnnnnnnnn Alex! Pleaaaaaaaaase?" She whines with puppy dog eyes that always got me.
"Okay" I said and she put in 'Anabelle'. The next thing I knew was that i was clinging to Ariana and she was laughing her head off.
"See? That's why I love you! You agree to watching a movie where the consequences are you wetting your pants!" She said and kissed my forehead.
I love you. Her words kept playing through my mind and I snuggled closer as the movie began to end, not wanting this night to end. I couldn't lose her. Never again.
