The book signing

- chapter two -   

I'm sitting at home on my phone, it's a Monday evening, I have just finished listening to my favourite songs and tidying my bedroom. I sit down on my bed exhausted after a long day and then cleaning my room, I let out this big sigh of relief, and I finally lay down. i'm scrolling through social media and I come across this book signing, the name of the author seemed familiar, I thought about it and then it clicked .... its the girl from work I met on Sunday... , the girl that made my day, the girl that I day dreamed about after work.

After gathering my thoughts about Harper, I have decided I want to go to this book signing of her's to see her just that once more to feel those feelings when I first met her on Sunday. I gather my things ready to make the travel to see her. 

It is now Wednesday the 27th of May 2021 the book singing is two weeks out from now, I'm getting excited for the release of my book that I've worked really hard on. I decided to head out with some friends in honour of the release.   

I'm currently out with my best friends enjoying our time together before I have to leave for new York, so I can sign some book and meet some people that have my book and get to thank them personally. I have worked really hard on this book for a little while now. The book explores the love between two dads raising their child in the rural area and then the child coming out as transgender and follows the life story of the child as they transition from a young girl by the name of Zoey to a young boy by the name of Zion and the dads getting married. 

I wonder what will be  happening at this book singing will, Harper recognise me from the other day at work, or will she just thinking I'm a total fool saying " I met you at work the other day after I spilt coffee and you helped me clean it up" I really hope she doesn't I'm weird because she's really sweet. I decide to google search more of the  book on the internet to see what I can find.This sounds weird but I've met her once and she's the only thing I think about. I have always known i've been attracted to girls since I was 12. It all started when I started to form a crush on this one girl in my grade she was the only thing I could think about and i'm starting to feel the same way about Harper, but there's something about her that I just really enjoy but I can't place what that one thing is... is it her company or her really warm infectious smiles that I just can't let go of?

Its getting late, its 9:30 pm now I should probably head home now because its been a long day.. so I say good bye to my friends and as we all depart from our seats and hug each other goodbye they all say in unison; 

" good luck at your book signing in New York"  

I give them a warm smile back and say;

" thank you, I'm sure it will be great " 

I head back to my car,  hop in, and  my car start the engine. Turn on the heater so I can get rid of the cold chill in the air as I shiver from the cold as the car warms up, the radio turns as  the static of the station starts to fade and one of  song of my favourite song starts to play I slowly hum in unison to the beat of the song. I take a few minutes to reflect my day and then Ash comes to mind. The girl from the coffee shop the start of the day. I hope she's okay after her incident this morning with the coffee and enjoyed the rest of her day. A few minutes has passed now I've  finally arrived at home, eaten a nice meal, had a shower now i'm ready for bed. I hop into bed, go into social media for few minutes and in that time I respond to a few fan DM's I had gotten over the past weeks, liked a few posts , even commented on a few. i'm slowly starting to wind down now it is 11:30 pm so I decide to head to bed so I reach over and turn the light out on the bedside table, the room slowly fills with darkness as I close my eyes.
