The little six year old had her back against the door, she kept crying. She could hear them argue behind the door.
???- " It's my decision, I adopted her."
Mr. FREED- " If that good for nothing girl becomes your daughter, She becomes mine as well !!"

Just like that.....his footsteps walked away. The door opened revealing that men's wife who now looked at the crying girl. She bent down, wiped her tears and hugged her. " You are safe" she said.

NICK- " Hey!! Are you okay...??"
" Huh.....Uh..yeah I am.", I said after coming out of my past memories.
NICK- " So..why did dad want to meet you??"
" I suppose it is something she still has to find out.", comes the voice from the back.
Mr. FREED entered, my brother immediately got up and greeted him and I bowed a little. Formality you know!
" Nick you were supposed to attend a meeting." He said.

Nick looked at me and I gave him a satisfied look. Afterall I don't want him to hear us. " Go " I whispered a little. Just as my brother left, He turned his back and walked towards the living room.
I followed him. We both settled down on the opposite sofas. He was continuously staring at me for 5 minutes, until I decided to break the silence.
" What is it, that you wanted to talk about? ", I asked.
" Well.. aren't you grown up lady now. When was the last time we met.??",He asked.

" When I was 8, don't round up the things. Come straight to the point. What is it??"

"Never in my life, I thought about you as my father.", I said.
" But legally you are. ", He made a statement here.
" I am past 18 now. Just sign a bunch of papers, and we'll be strangers. When should I send them to you??" I asked.
" That's not what I called you for to talk about." " I have a business partner and I want you to marry his son."
I just looked at him in disbelief. What is he saying???.Did he hit his head somewhere!!
Though he is my stepfather, BUT in papers. He didn't saw me for 13 years.
13 whole years. He never even cared. Now he just suddenly calls me to marry someone for the sake of his business. Just who the hell he think of himself as?? I seriously regret coming over here, why did I even came??
