Mary ran out the door as fast as she could, her hair coming undone, she was a sweaty, crying mess. She banged her hand on Susan's door and once her friend finally opened the door, she collapsed.
What seemed like an hour later, Mary finally woke up. She looked around and remembered where she was. She figured that Susan's husband carried her to the couch.
Susan slung a towel over her shoulder, threw her hands on her hips and smiled, "So, sleeping beauty, you're finally awake."
Mary groaned as she sat up, "If you saw what I saw, you'd want to sleep for a hundred years too."
Susan walked over to her friend and kneeled beside her, pushing a few loose brown locks behind her ear, "Mae, what exactly did you see? Should Thomas call the police?" She looked at her husband as if she was telling him to get ready to call for help.
"Oh Susie, it was terrible. I opened my front door and there lays Robert and James with blood pouring from their heads." She shivered.
Thomas picked up the phone, "Hi, yes. I would like to report a murder on 1268 Blue Bell Lane. Yes, I'll hold..."
Susan went to the kitchen and when she came back she handed Mary a hot cup of tea, freshly brewed and then went to grab her a blanket. Thomas pulled her to the side, "Darlin, should we get her set up in the guest room?"
Susan nodded her head, "Yeah, I think that'd be best. I'd hate to send her back to what was once her home. I'll go gather some things."
Susan left and Thomas picked up the phone, "Yes, I'm still here. How soon can you get there? Ok, that'll be fine. Thank you. Bye, bye now.
Susan showed Mary to the guest room, "Now, don't you worry Mae. Thomas, David, and Richard will go and meet the police there. Get some sleep, hun. I'll see you in the morning."
With one final hug, Mary walked into the room and closed the door, "Good night Susie."
