Leaving

I was sick of having to be the underdog, of being pushed to the back. I was the biggest of them all, but treated like the runt. The pack leader, Storm, never like the bigger wolves to be near the front so they don't get power hungry.

He was afraid someone would challenge him to pack leader. He made a big mistake pushing me to the lowest rank, scrapper (which is the one who eats off the bones, then discards them.) I usually hunt the bigger prey then get the smallest of morsels. Well, if your going to treat me like that, then I will leave.

My sister, Jasmine, (named after her eyes, like me), has agreed to join me. To start our own pack, with one Alfa and equal followers.

Tonight we will sneak away. The only problem is, if they desire to track us, they can choose to kill us, or have us taken back to the pack again by force, and have beatings whenever they feel the need.

Then you have the loners, who are cast outs from other packs. Usually week or elderly ones who can't fend for themselves.

The Pack of the Swirling Winds will lose two members, and the Pack of the Stars will gain Two.

My name is Emerald, and I am the Alfa here.
