Laying on the ground with blurry vision, an aching heart, and seeing their blood seep from their head, the useless girl blinked and watched as her fake friends feet walked to a group of power-jolts and laughed with them. Her hand moved through the blood slowly as if making sure this was really reality or just a terrible, awful nightmare. Power-jolts were like the plaque of the growing superhuman society. They wanted power and corrupted everyone to work for them through any means — weaknesses, blackmail, threats, or terrorizing them. It didn't matter.

Today, like any other day the useless girl was looking forward to meeting her friend. The only one in her whole life who ever gave her compliments and made her feel like she was something. Watching them walk away now, her whole body felt cold. Her heart aches so desperately that everything seemed slow. Her friend tracked her blood to the group. She heard them laugh and talk about her as if she was already dead.

She wasn't even mad. She wasn't upset in any way except the betrayal scratching at the back of her head. She wouldn't act on it though. "She was always so annoying! Needy and too trusting. Good riddance." Was the last words she heard in her friends voice before her ears began to ring and the already blurry vision became almost blind from tears.

She didn't want to get up. She wanted to die right there because what was the point of living if no one cared for you. Her parents abandoned her. Her grandparents hated her. Her teachers and classmates bullied her. The only light in her life was the same person now talking down about her despite all the genuine laughs they shared.

However, with all this working against her, she still lifted herself up with what dignity and bravery she could muster and finally got on her feet. A silence swept over the power-jolts and her former friend as the useless girl closed her eyes and leaned her head back letting the tears and the blood drip behind her as she grabbed the balcony and kept herself up in a stupor. She looked at the group of five and with a soft, scared voice she spoke.

"I really couldn't wait to meet you today, Clarke." She said with a faint smile as she felt her consciousness fade but forced herself to stay. Just to talk to her friend one more time. "I wanted... to tell you about how... my dad's grandmother actually... contacted us... and said she loved me." She sniffed as her friends walked towards her in a slow manner, a hesitant manner.

"She was... telling me how... my dad wanted her to have me and not... my moms parents..." Her breath hitched as she started crying and forced her voice louder. "I was gonna get to move in... to a little cottage by your... older brother and... I could still see you! I could still see you... when you moved in with him... for college..." She whimpered as she huffed out a heavy breath and tried to walked to her friend.

Her reality was fading into what felt like a lucid dream but even then, even now, no request by her subconscious could change this moment. This feeling of sadness, of a glimmer of hope being sniffed out by the very person she trusted with her life. Her friend caught her as she fell forward, she grabbed onto her and hugged with what strength she had as she cried while being leaned against the balcony and held up by Clarke.

"I was so excited... I can't wait to go kayaking... And fishing... shopping and dancing..." She said with a dull look in her eyes as if her spirit was refusing to leave her body. Clarke pulled her up and looked at her, she wasn't much more than a mumbling rag doll now. "You won't have to work with the power-jolts anymore... I can help pay them off... like we talked about... then we can move and be happy together..."

Clarke got close to her, leaning into her and whispered in a calm voice. "They've been paid off for a while now." Just as she pulled away and looked in the useless girls eyes and pushed her over the balcony and off the 15 story tall building from the 10th floor.

The useless girl could only reach out with little strength and weakly grasp Clarke's shirt but it wasn't enough to hold on only get blood on her shirt before falling and watching — as someone she could finally trust shatter everything she was looking forward to smile and walk away as if they never existed.

_____

Okay so I've been severely dehydrated for almost a week and I go back to the doctor Wednesday to get my blood drawn and see if I'm okay now or not but I wanted to let everyone read this because I am planning to release a book on Wattpad that pertains to this once I get more ideas down. As for the Fan Art/Video Contest it was suppose to end in March 1st but since I've been sick and I need to get my grades back up in college, I'm moving the ending date to November 15th 2020!

This gives people more time to enter and do what they need to do as well as gives me a chance to get my grades up. That said, I hope everyone is having a fantastic day and if you're not, please remember that just because today is bad it doesn't mean tomorrow isn't going to be great! I love you all.
