Grace

I'm so glad its the weekend. I don't mind school it's just that I need a break every once and a while. I flip the page of the book and place my bookmark in. I get out of my bed and grab my phone from the dresser. I unlock it and text Luna.

Me: Hey, I'm bored. What are you doing?"

She doesn't respond right away so I put my phone down and walk over to my bookshelf. I try to organize things around my room when I hear my phone buzz.

Luna: Hey, bored, I'm not doing anything. Want to meet up at Kaps?

Meself: yeah, be there in 5.

I put on some shoes and brush my hair. I pick up my phone and keys and walk out of my room.

"I'm going to hang out with Luna dad! Be back soon!" I yell into the house as I shut the door. I clamber into my car and drive to Kaps.

"So who are you planning on saying yes to?" Luna crumbles up her straw wrapper and tosses it at me. I take a sip of my slushie and swallow.

"I haven't really thought about it. I mean Gabe is good at sports and he's popular, Noah's nice..."

"Girl, they both hot af. Going out with either of them would make everyone jealous."

"Yeah..." I look out the window and a black Kia Optima pulls into a parking space. You will never believe who walked out of that car. Gabe freaking Carter. I can't seem to ever get a break from this. I look away and hide my face as he walks inside.

"Why are you hiding your face Grace?" Luna turns around and she looks at Gabe. She turns around to look at me with the biggest grin and shakes my arm.

"Oh my god! Go talk to him!" She shouts in a whisper so only I can hear.

"I'm good Luna." I take another sip of my slushie so I don't poke my eyes out while she was shaking my arm. She rolls her eyes dramatically.

"You are crazy!"

"I am not."

"Are too." And that's when the biggest and most evil grin shows up on her face. She whips her body around and walks right. Up. To. Him. My mouth is hung open as she winks at me right before she taps him on the shoulder. I hide my face in my arms and wait for the embarrassment to begin. I hear footsteps get closer to the table and luna begins to talk.

"Here's Grace. She's shy." I hear her whisper to him and can see the wink she gives him as I peak my head up and take yet another drink of my slushie. I give luna the I'm-going-to-kill-you look and she gives me a huge smile with a look back saying you'll-thank-me-later. I roll my eyes and look up at Gabe.

"Hey."

"Hello, Grace" He smiles at me and I return a forced one.

"I know you still don't have an answer for me, but I know what will help with that."

"Oh really," I say with sarcasm poisoning every word. He obviously doesn't notice and nods his head.

"Yeah." He holds up a finger and searches through his pocket and pulls out a tiny slip of paper. He writes something on the paper and hands it to me.

"My number, so we can get to know each other." I glance down and read the numbers on the paper.

"Oh, Thanks." Gabe smiles at me and nods.
