Love Potion (Dan?)

I cannot BELIEVE I'm doing this. I think to myself as I walk into the old creative writing classroom, otherwise known as Ari's domain. Ari, a petite, crazy, magical kind of girl has been rumored to be a witch since she was in elementary school. She doesn't seem to have any friends, so no one really knows whether it's true. Well I do, now, because that very person caught me staring at Phil Lester, aka the cutest boy at school, in my opinion. I've had a crush on Phil since middle school, but I can barely walk near him, let alone talk to him. Not to mention there's Dan Howell, the most infamous school punk, who happens to be Phil's best friend. Dan is the reason Phil is still single, protecting him from the screaming fangirls and whatnot. I've always been a bit jealous of Dan, to be honest. To be at Phil's side almost all day, talking to him, laughing and walking alongside him, it was all a dream to me.

When Ari caught me, she told me that she could make me a love potion that would last for two weeks. After Phil drank it, if I truly win over his heart in those two weeks, then the love would be real, but if I didn't, then everything would go back to normal, and I'd be left with nothing, like before. I had to think about it, but what else can I do? This was the only chance I had. Besides, high school was coming to a close, and who knows what would happen then.

The door opens with a loud, eerie creak, and I walk inside. "Who is it?" A soft voice asks, scaring me as I turned on my heel to find the source of the noise.

"I-it's Liz. I'm here for the love potion, remember?" I say quietly, though I was trying to sound confident. I looked around a bit more, and found the girl seated at what used to be the creative writing professors desk, before he switched classrooms.

"Oh, right. I'll be back." The creepy girl got up in a swift movement, and was gone as soon as Liz blinked. A few seconds later, she returned to the room, holding a diamond shaped bottle. Inside was a pinkish purple liquid that seemed to fizz every few seconds. Holding it out to me, she smiles slightly, a dimple forming in the corner of her smooth, rounded face.

"Here's the potion. Now listen very closely, so you don't mess anything up." Nodding, I looked at the beautifully carved glass bottle in wonder. Was this real? Is this potion really going to make Phil fall in love with me? I melted into a daydream as I thought about him, but snapped out of my trance as Ari cleared her throat. "Pour this into a tightly sealed container when you get home, and carry it to school. Don't shake the bottle too hard, or the potion will explode." My eyes widened, and she giggled softly, as if it were a joke. "At lunch, go up to Phil and offer him a drink. It's as simple as that. But keep in mind that love potions are very hard to make, and I won't replace it without something in return." The shy girl sits back at her desk, and begins typing away rapidly. I took this as my cue to leave, but just as I turned around, the girl let out a long, exasperated sigh. Smiling meekly, I turned back to her.

"Something wrong?" I ask, looking at the girl who seemed deep in thought. Her head snapped up quickly, and she shook her head vigorously.

"Oh no! Nothing at all! You can go now, there's no need to worry about me." I rub the back of my neck awkwardly, chuckling softly at the shy and antisocial butterfly.

"You sure?" I ask, wondering what was on the girl's mind. She nods with a large smile.

"Absolutely! See you around!" She waved, keeping the wide smile, and I then wondered whether the girl was bi-polar. She seemed so...upset, just a minute ago, and a lot shyer than she had just been. Shrugging, I walk out, grasping the delicate potion for dear life.

Early the next morning, I carefully dumped the potion into a small thermos, and was on my way to school. I reminded myself over and over that nothing would go wrong, everything would be okay, and that I would be happy. But when it was time for lunch, it was the complete opposite.
