Now, Tsukki knew you've been getting close with Kiyoko ever since you started hanging out with them. However, when you push him away when he goes to sit in the seat next to you, he complains. Loudly.
"Eh? What is this? How could you?" "Kei, please shut up, it's early." "I can't believe you. I'm being rejected by my own big sister. My own flesh and blood." "Kei I swear to-" "You're supposed to love and protect me unconditionally." "I will actually shove a sock in your mouth." You finally cut off his tirade, throwing a granola bar at him. You joined the team so you could embarrass him. Not the other way around. Day one as an official manager and he's already beat you to the punch.
The two of you exchange a glare and a snicker as he finally leaves to go sit with Yamaguchi, and Kiyoko smiles fondly at the small display of sibling rivalry. "The feeling of the team has changed ever since you've started to stay with us. It's a little lighter and more playful. And Tsukishima is a little less antagonistic with you around." She says quietly as she slides into the seat Tsukki just tried to occupy. Her words make you grumble. It's too early for this.
While you were just spending your free time in the gym, you would just watch them and "boss them around," as Tsukki would put it. But now that you're officially a manager, you're taking on a more active role. Now that you don't have to spend time tutoring, you can crack down and research more teams like you did with Nekoma. You may or may not have started with Seijo, even if Karasuno won't be facing them any time soon. What can you say, they tickled your interest bone.
Try as you might, though, you weren't able to dig up anything else useful about Nekoma. For such a big school, there's not a lot of information available to the general public. It doesn't really matter now, anyway. You'll be able to see how they play and get your own information at the end of the week.

Ever since Ukai has become the coach, he's had a somewhat troubled look on his face whenever discussing Suga or Kageyama. If you were to guess, you'd assume he's trying to figure out who to make the team's official setter. To be honest, you're a little hesitant to place your support behind either one of them as well.
Kageyama still has a lot of growing to do, but his talent as a setter is obvious to anyone. Suga is experienced and serves as a pillar for the team along with the rest of the third-years, but the difference between him and Kageyama is great and will only continue to grow as the first-year hones his skills. You understand that this year is Suga's last, and any official match can be his last.
Without realizing it, you ended up sporting the same look Ukai has been wearing for the past few days. Tsukki pointed it out, and everyone else quickly picked up on what he was saying. Suga asked you what was wrong but you waved it away, not wanting to put this situation out into the open in fear of making things awkward with him and Kageyama. However, try as you might, you can't run away from the third-year setter forever. He finally corners you in the little kitchen of the house the boys are staying in for the camp.
"Something's been bothering both you and Coach all week now. Spill it." The sudden confrontation makes you visibly jump. He's lucky you're only holding a spoon and not a knife.
"I don't know-" "(Y/N)." You hesitate a little. Do you really want to talk to him about this? It is about him, after all. After another moment of hesitation and listening to Suga vigorously tap his foot, you cave in. "I don't know for sure if Coach has been thinking the same thing, but I know that, sooner or later, he's going to ask me to place my support behind one setter."
Now Suga hesitates. "I see." He breathes out. This wasn't quite what he expected. "You're trying to figure out whether to support me or Kageyama."
"I want you to know that I'm not in pains over this just because you're a third-year. Both of you have traits that are crucial to the team. It's just...figuring out which set of traits fits best." You explained quickly, nearly stumbling on your words. Suga exhales a pent up breath, almost a sigh of relief, at your words and gives you a small fond smile.
"I want to be on the court just as much as the next guy, but please don't sacrifice what our team needs just to make some old guy happy." "Oi, you're only a year older than me, don't call yourself old."
