Two whole weeks had passed since Alex came back from the hospital. Seeing her old family again made her chest ache every single day for what felt like forever. What made it worse is that she couldn't distract herself with work or sport.
J'onn made it clear that she had to rest and getting in her office was risky for her. He didn't even let her do paperwork, thinking that would help her rest her mind. Unfortunately the lack of distraction made her think about the Grey-Sloan all the damn time.
Alex was thankful for the super friends trying to help her think about something else with game nights and movie marathons. She was even more thankful for Sam's help and patience. After all their relationship was still quite new and Sam insisted that Alex stayed at her's.
Her wounds were still healing and the simplest things felt exhausting, Alex hated feeling weak. That's why Sam came home a few times finding Alex laying on the ground after she'd try to do something she wasn't able to do anymore.
The third time it happened, Sam decided to start working from home so she could stay with her girlfriend. Thanks to Lena's kindness she was able to get days of work.
Time passed and Alex started getting better both physically and mentally. The stairs weren't a problem anymore and eventually Alex could go back to her apartment. But that's not what she wanted in the least, living with Sam was amazing and the feeling was reciprocated.

"I'm so sorry I didn't come to visit you at the hospital Alex. But with Sam gone I had even more work" Lena said for the thousand time since Alex got back.
"Lena, how many times have I said that it's okay! Kara told me how much you were sorry when I was there. Plus I know how busy you were, Kara was way too cuddly which means you didn't have time to give her her daily dose" Alex laughed to make fun of her sister in law. "I can't imagine how stressed you were with the wedding preparations on top of your doubled work."
"Wedding prepping isn't that much work when your fiancée doesn't need as much sleep and has all the energy in the world to take care of it" Lena laughed looking at Kara lovingly. "Little sneaky here found my planning book and prepared everything before I could even blink."
"So, you want to reveal the date of the wedding? We're dying to know" Sam said sitting next to Alex at the dinning table.
"You'll know soon enou-"
"JUNE 20TH"
"KARA I SWEAR TO GOD WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" Lena looked at her fiancée in utter disbelief. While Sam and Alex laughed.
"What? Why make them wait for a date?"
"Maybe I wanted to announce it in a special way I don't know...."
"Well, I've seen you thinking about a way to announce it for days and you're still not finding anything. Thought I would help." Kara smiled at Lena with a cute smile to make her forgive her right away.
"Damn Lena if I knew that a smile would make you soft so fast I would've tried that during meetings. " Sam laughed at her boss and best friend.
"Only I have this effect on her" the kryptonian smiled proudly.
"Damn right you do." Lena whispered under her breath.

"How's the city today?" Alex asked Vasquez who was standing in front of the main commands at the DEO.
"Pretty well actually. There's minor crime here and there but nothing the police can't handle Director Danvers"
"Really? Not even the tiniest abnormal event"
"Depends if you think teenagers stealing ice cream is abnormal."The building was very calm. Too calm almost.
"Can you do another check up on the city please? I have a very bad feeling today." Alex looked around her with a worried look.
"On it!"
It was getting late in the day and nothing had happened. Alex didn't want to leave the office just in case so she did paperwork which was getting extremely boring.
"Hungry director Danvers?"
Alex looked up and saw her beautiful Girlriend. "Mexican food??"
"Of course, what else?" Sam scoffed. She knew her girlfriend way too well.
"Damn I love you!" Alex said without a heartbeat and then stopped on her way to her food slowly looking up at Sam. "Oh......" a worried look appeared on her face as she realized what she had just said. "I meant-"
"I love you too Alex don't worry." Sam let out a little laugh both out of happiness and stress. She had told Kara she loved Alex but they hadn't said those words to each other yet.
Both looked at each other without speaking for a few second until a crashing sound came." I knew it! "
" What the hell was that?" Sam asked worried.
"Looks like we're about to find out" Alex said as she rushed out of her office.
"Vasquez! What's happening?"
"An unknown alien is attacking your sister's building. Damn that thing is noisy"
"Prepare a team right now! I'm going on the field." Alex looked at Sam looking sorry.
"Don't worry I get it, but don't you think you're going in there without me. I still have powers left from reign." Alex nodded and they left with a team following them.
Once they arrived at Kara's building they saw the Alien screaming shock waves to weaken the building's structure in the middle of traffic. Alex, Sam and the DEO agents arrived at the same time as Kara.
"Don't worry Alex I recognize that race. I know how to stop them quickly" Kara said through the intercom. People in the street were running away from the alien abandoning their cars as Kara worked her magic.
Unfortunately Alex spotted a cab with people stuck in it. She went over there to free the civilians with Sam's help. Kara had knocked out the Alien and the Team was already taking care of it.
Sam was near Alex and saw her eyes widen as supergirl opened the cab breaking the door. So she decided to look in the same direction as Alex and she saw them.
"What the fuck?"
"What the fuck?"
" What the fuck? " said Jo, Webber and Bailey from inside the cab.
Here it is!! The first chapter of part 2! Finaly! I really hope you all like it and don't hesitate to comment. Constructive criticism is gladly welcomed.
