Despite the news of what happened, the citizens of San Fransokyo continue on with their lives. So far, the attacks only seem to happen at night. Therefore, police are beginning to plan on enforcing curfew laws to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

Thankfully for the people at SFIT, their scheduling remains mostly unaffected.

In the cafeteria, Hiro and Karmi are talking to one another.

"So, how are you feeling?" asked Hiro. Karmi looked at him and shrugged, nodding. "I'm fine. I heard the news of what happened last night." Karmi began as they sat down. "My parents practically forbade me from staying here overnight. Which is honestly a bad thing, considering that we still have to study and practice Biological Engineering, which is long enough, having to take several days and nights." she explained, poking at her food. Hiro nodded.

"I agree. Not to mention, the police are talking about setting up curfew laws for the city to prevent more disappearances." he explained. Karmi nodded and grimaced slightly. "Yeah..." she said, the traumatic memories of the attack still fresh in her mind. Hiro stared at her sympathetically. "Are you still thinking about the attack?" he asked. Karmi nodded.

"Yeah." she replied. Hiro sighed through his nose and gently nudged her with his shoulder. "Come on, Karmi. You and Liv survived. Isn't that a good thing?" he asked, trying to cheer her up. Karmi on the other hand did not take kindly to this.

"Look, it's not easy to forget a time when you nearly lost your own life to a monster! I could've died! What if Liv didn't save me in time?! What if the cops didn't show up?! What if...what if..." she scolded before her voice began to crack. Hiro ushered her to relax, especially since the other students were glaring at them (or more specifically, HIM). "Please, calm down, Karmi. I shouldn't have said that you're right. That was my bad." he soothed. Karmi seethed at him with a heated glare.

"You're DAMN right it is. Do YOU know what it's like to nearly have your life lost?! Especially when the circumstances are out of your control?!" she demanded. Hiro stared at her as she was nose-to-nose with him. He gulped and nodded. "Yes..." he said. Karmi raised a brow. "You do?" she asked. Hiro nodded and took in a deep breath, which was hitched.

"The very night you were attacked...I was attacked as well. By the same monster." he explained. Karmi's eyes slightly widened, and she pulled back, giving him space. He looked at the food tray and bit his lower lip.

"I was heading back into SFIT because I forgot something for Baymax. We were both alone at the time when...when we heard a loud explosion. We turned around, and saw the purple light coming from Akuma Island." he explained. Of course, it's mostly untrue, but he couldn't simply tell Karmi that he's actually THE Captain Cutie she dreamed of becoming her boyfriend. It would make a damaged mind even more stressed. So, he had to improvise on his story, and Karmi, thankfully, seemed to be interested.

"The ground shook, and Baymax and I had to duck so we don't fall over ourselves. Then, a few minutes after the small earthquake and the light disappeared...that's when it happened." he explained, taking in a deep breath as he rubbed his eyes. "As we were walking back, we were ambushed by the flying beast. It swooped down and knocked me over. I tried to get away from it, but it was too fast." he continued. Karmi frowned at this and bit her lip as a pang of guilt engulfed her heart.

"Then, Baymax got in the way, and the monster attacked him instead. I was able to hide as I heard the thing tearing into my friend..." he briefly stopped for a moment to clear his throat. Karmi noticed another tear coming down from his eye and landing onto the salad. "When the beast flew off, I left my hiding spot to check on him...all I saw was Baymax's destroyed body, along with his healthcare chip."
