Cancer. Deku had it and was literally dying in front him. "You're lying. There's no damn way he has fucking cancer!!" Bakugo yelled with hurt rage, despite him knowing its the truth. He looked at Deku who was still comatose and tears filled his eyes; how long had he been putting him through hell? How long did he make Deku believe that he hated his guts? He sat on the bed next to Deku and gently took his hand in his own and leaned over to whisper in his ear, "Listen, ya damn nerd... you better fight this shit... you hear me...? I... I need you here with me...." once he straightened back up, he wiped the tears from his eyes, and stood to his feet. "You better help him fight this bullshit... or I'll roast your ass..." he said as he looked at the doctor, pain in his eyes, "Ya got that...?" The doctor's eyes softened and he rested a hand on the young hero-in-training's shoulder, "I'll do everything I can.." Bakugo nodded and with one last forlorn view of his comatose crush, he left to return to class.
Upon arrival, Kirishima was the first to spot him, "Hey Bro! Is Midoriya okay?" Bakugo didn't answer but instead lowered his eyes; he knew he would be asked that question repeatedly throughout the day. "Bro?" Bakugo shook his head and opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find the words or the will to speak, so he pulled out his cell phone and texted his mother to come get him, "Come get me. Before I blast one of these dumbasses." He then walked back to All Might, and told him he was going home early, "Now, young Bakugo, you know you can't just leave without a valid excuse." "I have one," he said as he glared at the Number 1 Hero, "Deku is currently with Recovery Girl and a doctor... He's laying there.... dying from fucking cancer!!" Tears fell from his eyes as the whole training ground heard him, and he choked back a sob as he looked down, "He's dying..."
Silence filled the training ground as everyone witnessed Bakugo actually breaking down and showing himself to be more vulnerable. "That's right... Bakugo grew up with Deku, right...? But I thought he hated him..." Uraraka whispered to Tsuyu. "My guess is he never hated Midoriya but just didn't know how to process how he truly feels for him, kero..." came the reply. All Might's eyes darken, and his smile fell, "I see... In that case, I shall end my class early so anyone who wants to see him can have the opportunity..." All of Deku's friends rushed to Recovery Girl's station, but Bakugo couldn't take seeing him like that again, so he just went to the dorms where his mother was waiting for him, "Okay, Katsuki, what's eating you?" Bakugo looked at her and hugged her tight, something he would only do if the situation was serious, "I-It's Deku... He... He has cancer.... Mom, hes dying..." she felt her son tremble as he just broke down crying in her arms. "Oh, Katsuki... You know that boy is a fighter.... He's gonna make it through this... Just wait and see..." "Mom.... i.... I made him think I hated him for so long now.... what if i lose him before i tell him the truth....?" "That's not gonna happen. You'll figure out the right thing to say, and you aren't gonna lose him." Bakugo just tightened his grip on his mother and buried his face in her neck, "I hope you're right, Mom.... I hope you're right..." She held her baby boy closer and took him home where she lay with him to help him get some rest, to which he refused at first, "Katsuki, get some rest. Hes not gonna disappear just because you fell asleep." Bakugo sighed and reluctantly snuggled closer, slowly drifting into a very uneasy sleep.
