When Bakugo awoke, he saw his mother had gotten up and was on the phone with, judging by the voice, Inko Midoriya. He sat up quietly and looked over at her, "...Mom....?" Mitsuki looked over at him with soft eyes unusual for her, "Good morning Katsuki... Inko says that Izuku is finally awake... Would you like to go see him..?" Bakugo nodded, "Yeah..." She nodded and went back to talking to Inko, "He said he wanted to see Izuku... is he up for visitors?" "Inko sighed, "Yes... but sparingly... Right now the doctor is recommending that we put Izuku on chemotherapy right away before he gets too, too weak..." "Do it... I'll help cover anything I need to..." "I'm just scared.... what if it speeds up the aggression of the cancer...?" "Don't think like that... If there's a chance it'll help, we need to take that chance..." Inko went quiet for a good while, "You're right.... I just can't help but worry...." By this time Bakugo took the phone from Mitsuki, "Listen, Mrs. Midoriya... Don't tell him I've said this, but hes stronger than you give him credit for... I have given him pure hell since my own quirk came in, and as scared as he was, he never budged from his goals.... He's determined as hell... Hes a fighter.... But right now, he needs you to be strong like that.... No matter how scary or painful things get, you. Can't. Budge. Don't give in..." "........Thank you, Katsuki.... Your secret is safe with me, but thank you for saying that to me... because you're right..."
Bakugo gave the phone back to Mitsuki, "I'm getting dressed to head to see him... Is he in the hospital or at home...?" "He's in the hospital..." Mitsuki replied, only to get a nod then for Bakugo to get some clothes and to go change in the bathroom, where he stared at his reflection in the mirror. 'He's strong... And... he needs to know how I actually feel about him.... But what if I can't tell him...? What if I'm too late by the time I actually have the courage to tell him.....?' He looked down then slammed a fist on the counter, almost breaking it, "DAMMIT!!" He breathed deeply and began to cry quietly, "He's literally fighting for his life and being a hero for his mom..... and here I am.... a coward to my own emotions.... Just when I think I'm catching up to Deku's strength and resolve, I'm brutally reminded that I don't even come close...." He looked up at his reflection with tears falling from his eyes; he had no idea what he was supposed to do.
He was jolted from his thoughts when a knock on the bathroom door was heard, "Katsuki...?" "...I'll be out in a minute..." "Okay, Sweetheart.. Just don't be long.. I'm going to start the car.." Footsteps faded as he went to get everything ready to go, and he sighed as he finally got changed into a grey All Might muscle tank and ripped up black skinny jeans paired with red Converse high tops. He looked at himself in the mirror, 'Would.... this outfit choice make him smile....?' He smiled softly at the thought of Deku's cute smile and the tiny dimples in the center of his freckles on each side, how his smile brightens any room hes in and adds warmth to the coldest of hearts. He sighed and he was haunted by the thought of someday soon when that gorgeous smile will fade as Deku breathes his last, of never seeing that heartwarming smile again. He shook his head and stormed outside where the car waited for him, 'Don't you die on me, Damn Nerd...'
