Was gonna be a happy chapter. Realized I had to torcher the characters more.

All the losers had left Bills house except Stan. Stan waited until everyone was gone before he posed the question he had been waiting to ask.

"Hey Bill can I stay overnight again? I have my school backpack here and extra clothes still. You don't have to say yes of course-" bill cut Stan's nervous ramble off.

"Of course y-you can Stan. You're always welcome t-to stay." Bill smiles at his boyfriend. Stan smiled back shyly. He had never been one for physical contact such as hugging or kissing, even emotions really. They both went back up to Bills room to clean up. They both gave up after a while and just laid on Bills bed. Stan sat in between Bill legs, resting his head of Bills chest while bill wrapped his arms around Stan.

"Do you n-need to call your mom or dad to let the know you're s-staying?" Bills stutter had been improving a lot lately. Stan tensed up and let it a quiet no.

"Stan is something wrong? Won't y-your parents be w-worried." Bill asked the tense teen.

"Nothing is wrong." Stan said obviously lying. Bill hugged him a bit tighter and frowned.

"Please t-talk to m-me." Bill said. Stan sighed and grabbed a wet wipe from beside Bills bed. Bill was curious as to what he was doing. Stab started using it to wipe away something from his eye and his cheek, then used it in his arms. Bill had no idea what he was doing until he saw the makeup on the wet wipe and the bruises and cuts on his arms. Stan turned around and Bill saw a black eye, a bruised cheek and a small cut over the bruise.

Bills heart broke for his boyfriend. He could tell Stan wanted to cry. Bill turned Stan around and hugged him and he finally started crying. Bill let Stan sob in his arms whine he tried to figure out a reason any adult would do this to a perfect human like Stan.

Stans skin wasn't paper, it shouldn't be cut. Stans face wasn't a punching bag it shouldn't be bruised. Stans wasn't a sand castle he shouldn't be knocked over and demolished.

"Stan baby you don't deserve this, n-no one d-does. Stay here whenever y-y-you need." Bill said. He rubbed his boyfriend back trying to comfort him. Why couldn't they have good parents? Bills weren't perfect but they where trying now that they realize that even with Georgie gone, they still have a kid to take care of. Stan eventually fell asleep. Bill noticed how peaceful he looked, without anxiety clouding his features or worry prominent on his face like how he usually spelt. Bill swore to protect this amazing person at all costs. He would not let Stan get hurt ever again.

Stan made a promise that day too, he promised that he would stay alive so he could marry Bill. So they could be a family the two of them, so he could grow up with Bill and so he could make fun of Richie when he was older. So he could make jokes about why Eddie would decide to marry Richie. So he could listen to Beverly day "I told you so" when they say I Do. So he could get to know Cara and Noah more. So he could hug Mike and thank him for always being their. So he could tell Elizabeth she's still a bitch when they're older. So he could maybe come to respect Georgia and Beatrice. So he could love a happy life.

Bill never thought that promise would be hard to keep until it was too later. Much too late. Stan thought his promise was easy, god how wrong he would find out he was.
